In the Hôtel Restaurant du Chene, next to the church of Itxassou, one of the most beautiful church in The Basque Country (from the 17th century), you will be warmly welcomed and will enjoy a peaceful and gastronomic moment. Five minutes away from Espelett
We were spending a couple of days at a nearby B & B, when we were told about Restaurant du Chene by our host.Arriving slightly earlier than the local dinner hour, we were seated right away, and attended to throughout delicious meals chosen from the extensive menu. A delightful dining experience, complete with; good service; good food and wine; fair prices and a nice ambiance.

This rustic family restaurant (open only for lunches) offers a hearty lunch in a fixed price and reasonable menu. Starting from local garbure (Basque veg soup) followed by baby trout then duck or lamb or both with chips then local sheep cheese and green salad then dessert! House wines very reasonable and the menu is totally unnecessary!! In winter a roaring fire and in summer a terrace by babbling stream! Good parking but really winding road leading further up the mountain. Pas de Roland on the way utterly fabulous with a white water rafting possibility nearby! There are many walks in these mountains and the meal amply repays the exercise. Only about half an hour from Biarritz. Also fairly easy diversion from the main route to St Jean Pied de Port.

We ate on the terrace which is a small covered decking surrounded by bushes which is very pleasant indeed if, on our night, very quiet, other than the odd passing car, as no one seemed to talk!!The lady Maitre'd is special and so, so helpful with a very able young assistant. The service was prompt and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. There is a limited choice of starters and if you are not into Foie Gras or Gesiers, then it is very limited and I had the asperge mimosa which turned out to be bottled aparagus with chopped boiled egg. That being said the Gerboure (local vegetable soup) was home made with fresh vegetables and stunning, and our mains of very tasty hake (with a chorizo crust and broad beans) and perfectly cooked chipirons and salad were excellent. The main dining room that we passed through going to and from the Terrace was charming (but has those wooden chairs with rafia seats that make sitting difficult for the older person for any length of time).Very good food in pleasant surroundings with great and cheeful service at good value prices in a beautiful town.

Situated between Hasparren and Cambo-le-Bains, in Urcura . You can take some tapas or a full diner . We work with local producer and all the dishes are home made .
Small restaurant run by three skilled chefs who take enormous pride in producing meals of a high standard. We have visited twice while travelling through the region and would make a detour in the future to visit again. Local ingredients and I understand they do nights with tasting menus.

Even though we arrived late, the team arranged a way for us to eat. We've been treated to a delicious axoa. I've been spending half of the year in the Basque Country since I was born and I've rarely eaten one like that. Would definitely recommend + the team is super nice!

In between various holiday activities, we called in here on a Sunday lunchtime. There's plenty of car parking spaces opposite. We got exactly what we asked for. It was clean, tasty and the gentleman serving us was very friendly - treating our kids with a lolly as we left.

Salon Cyrano is dedicated to good and beautiful moments: A cup tea on a sunny terrace, protected by plane trees. A peaceful lunch with exclusively local products. The Salon Cyrano team welcomes you with all its generosity and good care.
On a recent rip to Cambo-les-bains, we ate lunch several times at Cyrano. The food is excellent, the staff top notch, and the view from the patio to beautiful! Highly recommend Cyrano

We stumbled across this delightful café/restaurant after traipsing in the rain in search of somewhere open for lunch and were so glad to come across it! This âTarterie/ Salon de Théâ is a very cheerful place, quirkily decorated to the smallest details (the bill holders are small watering-cans). It offers a selections of tarts (or quiches), savoury and sweet, one more enticing than the other and all freshly made. The service was lovely too and we left the place all refreshed and chirpy. Definitely seek it out if you are passing through Cambo-les-Bains!
