As one of Brisbaneâs longest standing restaurants, The Walnut Restaurant & Lounge Bar is renowned for its exceptional service and delightful dining experience. With a seasonal menu crafted around locally sourced produce, youâll enjoy modern Australian
I'm a bit baffled. We went to this restaurant for a friends birthday. She got some deal 50% off so she organised it. The menu looked pretty pretentious but I was just along for the ride.So the chairs were nice and the room was ok. The wait staff were friendly and attentive even though they got some stuff wrong...but then the food came out.It wasn't BAD, I didn't get food poisoning or anything, and to be fair the bomb alaska was really good, but the rest was a study in mediocrity. My chicken was a ridiculously small portion, the mash on the lamb shanks was flavourless but the big shock was th eye fillet came out badly overcooked. That's ok but when my friend showed it to the wait staff first they said she had eaten it, which she hadn't she'd just cut it in 2, then the kitchen said it was correctly cooked and refused to replace it!It wasn't marginal. She had ordered medium rare, the steak was medium well, seriously. I usually ask for medium and it looked more cooked than I would want. Terrible thing to do to a lovely piece of meat.So at this point I'm guessing the "chef" just doesn't know how to cook. I mean I could have done a better job at home of these meals and I don't cook much anymore...But then I go online and find all these glowing reviews ? Seriously ? You can not have eaten at the same place. I guess it's another testament to the unsophisticated brisbane diners, they confuse BS words on a menu with fine dining.Anyway at 50% off I guess it was ok but if we had been on for full menu price I'd have walked out. $33 for what I got was shocking. The grand central, other end of town (see my other review) has food 100 times better than this at half the price. Yes it's a (nice) pub so casual dining, but $40 wait staff with $5 food doesn't work.I won't be back. Obviously...Thanks for the comments in your review.I will certainly look into the logs for this night, as it definitely does not sound like the Walnut Restaurant ! Our reviews normally reflect the good food and great service we aim to deliver, Look forward to your next review should you wish to try us again, and I am certain it would be a positive one.

We specialise in gourmet French crepes as well as build your own all-day breakfast, daily specials, with a wide selection of favourite options. All savoury crepes are gluten-free; this option is available for sweet crepes as well. We use only the freshest
This is the place to go to in the Kuranda Heritage Markets to get the best crepes. There are classic crepes, sweet crepes and gourmet crepes. The gourmet crepes are outstanding, and are a bit like a gourmet pizza on a crepe base. All three of us were very happy with what we ordered and would happily go there again. It is popular so you may have to wait for a seat if you go there at peak times. There is a also lovely deck which looks into the rainforest. The staff are all really friendly and helpful.

I went for the dinner service degustation on my first night in Brisbane. The ambience was reminiscent of a french bistrot, and took me back to Paris. The waiters were exceptional and great attention to detail (my sparkling was regularly topped up very efficiently). I had the lobster/whipped polenta/levain, St Agur gnocchi (gorgeously pillowy and my favourite dish), toothfish (with a range of asian ingredients which I couldn't work out how it came together as european), guinea fowl/parmentier, and a chocolate dessert. Only issue with service was my guinea fowl had bone in it, and when I told a waitress to notify the kitchen, she made a small joke about how I was 'lucky it didn't happen at the start', and did not even attempt an apology. Coffee was great and served with two crisp ginger biscuits. The bathrooms are located outside, so don your jackets if you are heading out in winter.

Putia Pure Food Kitchen is a restaurant, pantry and cooking school. Putia, meaning corner store in Sicilian, is a rustic alfresco restaurant with a focus on creating pure taste sensations using fresh, quality, locally sourced and sustainable produce.
$64 For breakfast is way over priced.Coffee and food were good but not worth $$$. Very inconsistent with serving sizes between meals. Big breakfast good size for $ but eggs Benedict at $24 For 1 slice of bread, avo and 2 eggs left husband hungry. Also said more like a white sauce rather than hollandaise. Most disappointing though is that having an allergy menu becomes very restrictive when they won't allow substitution. But happy to remove $8 item and add $4 and charge for addition still. I understand not allowing substitution all the time but allergies already make my dining experience difficult. So due to this won't be back. It's obviously busy and won't miss my patronage but warning to others you may leave disappointed. Dear OpinionATThank you for your review. You are quite right, there is a difference in size between the BIG Breakfast and the Putia benedict due to the different ingredients in each dish. The big breakfast is the most substantial mean on the menu. Many of our customers tell us that they have allergies and our staff talk to them about menu options that might work for them. I appreciate the difficulty you may often have in choosing a suitable dish. For this reason, there is a basic menu choice of eggs on toast to which you can then add sides that are agreeable with you. Perhaps that would have worked better for you than the Big breakfast. Having said that, I can assure you that your feedback, e.g in relation to the sauce, is appreciated and has been considered by the kitchen team. regards Dominique

We went here for dinner tonight and it was absolutely fantastic! We worked our way through the starters menu with the garlic bread, bisque, cauliflower blue cheese soup, followed by foie gras to share and then the seafood - avocado tian. All absolute winners. We had Elisa explaining and recommending the different dishes to us and we couldn't have been better looked after. After that we should have stopped but we moved on to Irish coffee, Frangelico and desert. We will definitely come back!

Seated outside on a gorgeous Brisbane night, we had stellar service to match the stellar meal. From perfect classics, such as fried rice, to true fusion delights, bbq duck and cherry crepes, the food was the star!Three street food plates, two salad plates, one share plate and a side were more than enough to sate the desires of four hungry adults and two 'starving' kids (one a teenager)!Well worth a visit!

What a divine little restaurant, with the most spectacular food!Started with the Pork for entree and the flavor was superb but that steak was something else, I would highly recommend ditching a steak house and heading in here for a great mouthwatering steak and the mustards that accompany are delicious. Not big on desert but the salted caramel was fantastic and will certainly be back again!Oops........almost forgot? The service was friendly and certainly accompanied that fine food!Happy Travels and enjoy!
