We were recommended this restaurant by our hosts in Beaulieu. We decided on lunch on a beautiful autumn day. The outlook from the outdoor eating area is stunning with the river over the road and forested hills all around. This is a family restaurant which has had 3 generations of family operation. There are a number of set price menus which allow a number of choices for each course. We decided on the 25 euro option. We started with entres of smoked salmon and a cheese, walnut, fig puff pastry dish. Mains were the Hake, duck and pork. The three desserts available were all tried..a creme brulee in chocolate and custard (provided separately), a pear dish and the flambe which served two people. We backed this substantial meal up with some local regional wines. The meals were beautifully cooked and tasty, and the ambience of the location added to the experience. Service was excellent. A wonderful long lunch in a beautiful little village in France.

Having been directed to the âdrink onlyâ area (other people were sitting in the square with drink only!) I sat and was ignored, went into bar and helpful bar staff provided a lovely coffee- hence 2 stars not 1. Coffee great staff indifferent.

We had originally planned to go to Chez Colette however hadn't booked and there were no tables available at that time and were were starving having spent the afternoon kayaking on the Dordogne. This place was a lovely find. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is basic but excellent. We had the entrecôte steak, beef burger and the minced beef steak and fried egg. All were delicious and came with fresh crispy salad and decent chips. The steak was extremely tender and cooked to perfection. Water came as standard, there was a wide soft drink selection as well as a choice of interesting local bottled beers. Deserts were mainly Ben and Jerry ice creams but waffles etc were also available and the coffee was excellent. The best bit after a basic but excellent meal was the bill. Much less than we both estimated and they seemed delighted when we left a tip. This isn't a posh night out but it was a perfect end to an active day and we will definitely be back.

Already reviewed as a hotel, but it is an outstanding restaurant in its own right - in our experience the best in the town.
Beautiful meal, wine and service. Exquisite, sophisticated cuisine at reasonable prices. Original dishes using locally sourced ingredients. The chef deserves an accolade. The service was efficient, friendly and non-intrusive. I only wished I had known that they have beautiful bedrooms too since we were already staying at a different hotel.

We were five for dinner. The service was friendly and pleasant, the meal was imaginative and delicious. In a region where the menus tend to be similar, Le Beaulieu seems to have gone to the effort of being a little different with much success. Our monkfish with curry sauce and stewed vegetables was superb as was a starter of a colorful salad en twined with tuna . Even the dessert was unusual blueberries and vanilla flavored cream on a crunchy speculoos bisquit. Very tasty indeed. . We will return!

Le Restaurant Le Turenne, recently reopened, is expertly orchestrated by it's new Chef, Pascal Steffan, who's reputation precedes him. He chooses to only cook fresh local products. He offers a fine, generous and authentic French cuisine. Cécile, warm and
Lunch on the terrace was a great success with all the family (ages 8 years to 68 years). The children's menu at â¬10 - spaghetti bolognaise followed by a strawberry "tiramisu" was voted best meal of the holiday (so far!) by the grandchildren, while all the adults opted for the â¬26 set menu (other options were "Menu du Jour" at â¬16, set menu at â¬32, and a la carte). Starters were either asparagus or salmon; mains were pork chop or daurade (sea bream); and deserts lemon tart or strawberry pavlova - selection was hard, but everyone voted their choices top rate.
