Have heard many mixed reviews about this restaurant so decided to try it for ourselves. We had 3 courses and could not have faulted any of them. Beef was cooked perfectly with a delicious pepper sauce and the âdesssert gourmandâ was to die for. People of Bonnes and surrounding areas should really give it a try before making a judgement. Will definitely return and hope the food is as good as tonight.

Friendly relaxed bar/ restaurant in pretty village of Charras. Open 6 days per week, Tuesday - Sunday.11.00 am -11.00 pm. Daily changing menus , serving both lunch and evenings. Serving French/ international cuisine . Good selection of wines, beers and sp
We already had booked there once, got there and the restaurant was closed. Ther had been flooding in the kitchen but the owners had never bothered to put a note on the door or call those who had booked.Well we gave it another try. It started with fish soup that barely tasted of fish. Seafood platter was ok. The main dish (there was no choice) was roast beef with vegetables. The roast beef looked good but was stone cold. So were the vegetables apart from the potatoes (gratinée) Cheese platter was 3 or for cheeses and was ok. The desert was supposed to be red fruit tart and turned out to be a roulade with horrible pink icing that just turned off.The wine list is virtually non existent so we ended up with house wine (red) which was pretty grimNot a Christmas eve experience to repeat!Thank you for your feedback, which we do value. We apologise for the closure of the Restaurant due to the severe flooding which affected the local area. Both Staff and clients were knee-deep in water, bailing out the Kitchen! We did attempt to contact all people who had made reservations, however a response was not received in all cases & some numbers did not have answerphone facilities. We appreciate your perseverance in returning to the Restaurant for a second time. We regret that your experience was not as you had expected, as we are constantly striving to achieve high standards. Our Wine List has been especially prepared with the assistance of a local Sommelier in Mareuil, so were disappointed to hear that you were not satisfied with the choice available. However we will be looking at broadening our Wine List in the near future to include wines from Chile, USA, Argentina, Australia & New Zealand. The Christmas Log which was served, was the traditional French alternative to Xmas cake which is normally served in Britain. It was made especially for us by our local Boulangerie. We apologise if it was not to your palate.

We were looking for an authentic French restaurant to take our four friends to for their last night staying with us at our holiday home. This should be easy, but finding somewhere that offers good quality French food at a fair price is not that simple in this locale. Our previous "favourite" restaurant in Aubeterre had disappointed us on our last visit by a very rushed meal and impersonal service - not what we were looking for. If you are seeking a first class meal at a price that won't break the bank, this is well worth a visit. It's not just the food - which is very well cooked and exquisitely presented, but the welcome, ambience, charming service and attention to detail that make this Logis outstanding. If you are visiting Aubeterre sur Dronne I would recommend the slight detour for a memorable meal.

We used to go here everytime we went to Aubeterre but stopped going when Audrey left, however we went a week last Saturday and had a really nice meal, in pleasant surroundings and were served by very friendly staff. The staff were French but we're happy to parlez with my poor French which was fun. I had the duck burger which was very good, 3 big bits of magret and a mountain of salad chips etc, my friend has magret which looked really good and my wife had the prawns which looked superb. All washed down with a few beers and some wine. Champion AA they say in Yorkshire we will be back.

Hotel de France has 8 rooms, most of them with private shower and toilet. The hotel was recently renovated and decorated in the style of the fifties. Next to the terrace on the market square, the hotel has a cozy bar and restaurant. The dining room and ba
Not that it isn't when the sun doesn't shine. A great place to people watch when sitting in the shade in the square. Gets very busy at times. Staff are friendly and work very hard. Mixture of (mainly) English and French diners. Food is consistently very good. Local dishes served. We had a mixed tapas for a starter which was ok. Steak as a main course which was cooked just as we asked. I thought the starters were on the expensive side. A good place to eat or just drink coffee/wine/beer and watch the world go by.

We had already planned to visit this place after an earlier visit to an adjacent restaurant. The menu consists mainly of crepes, galettes and omelettes although the latter were unavailable. Between us we had crêpes and galettes and whilst they were tasty but not outstanding. Service was fine but again not outstanding. There is another creperie close by which has a higher TripAdvisor rating but was closed at the time of our visit.thank you for your comment, however we do not do continuous service, thank you for understanding.

Evening meal for 4. Book in advance as lots of people were turned away (especially on a weekend). Apéritifs were accompanied by a savoury pastry, nice touch and tasted good. Water and bread was refreshed without asking, thanks to very attentive staff. Vegetarian dish was lovely (enough to satisfy a fussy mother in law); 2 different duck dishes well cooked and well presented. I had the fish of the day that was delicious and came with potatoes and a tasty little portion of rice. Good salads dressed the plates and not that it matters to some but presentation on the plate has improved and did add that je ne sais quoi to onlookers. The café gourmand was great and we shared one between two. Chocolate dessert was quite dense according to the mother in law, tiramisu was lovely. Thanks for a lovely meal and attentive service. Dogs are welcome and always well received.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch this week which despite the poor weather was a real treat. We have eaten here many times before and while being very good has not always scored top marks across the Board however this time the meal was spot on! I won't describe each course but suffice to say they were without fault. The best meal we have had in this area for a long time, please keep it going!

We stumbled across this restaurant whilst having an evening stroll around Aubeterre, and we weren't disappointed. The staff all spoke English as well as French and were very attentive. We had a very relaxing evening, good food, great wine and perfect evening weather. We sat outside and watched people strolling around in the evening sun. Every course was perfect and I would have chosen anything off the menu. This is how eating out should be done, a big thanks to all the staff and an evening to remember
