The Römerhof is located in the old part of Arbon town and the restaurant is simply but nicely decorated with clean, white rooms. The menu offers a selection of dishes including food reflecting the chefâs Mauritius heritage. All of the dishes were exquisitely presented; it was almost a shame to eat them. The food was also of very good quality.The reason I didnât award five stars is that the prices are quite high and somehow all of us felt that despite the quality of the food, it was too much to spend for a dinner. This is not to fault the service nor the cook â both were very friendly â but the total dining experience fell somewhat short of our expectations, considering the prices.Dear GuestThank you for your feedback about your recent visit at our restaurant. our party of three adults truly take dining seriously. we appreciate when a restaurant team, both dining room team and kitchen team come together to show off their place. this is what we experienced here. the table team headed by melanie was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and truly interested in assuring that our dining experience would be memorable. the kitchen team, lead by dominic put together some flavorful dishes showing their skills with local fish, beef and pork. even the vegetables, often a sad afterthought by some restaurants could stand on their own as a stellar dish, fresh and tastefully seasoned so as to highlight the true flavor of each vegetable product. nothing from start to finish was left wanting. a platonic experience in dining.Dear worldexplorer, thank you so much for your wonderful review of our restaurant, the food and the staff. Das Restaurant kann ich nur Empfehlen. Wir fühlen uns als Gast Willkommen, durch die freundlichen Gastgeber. Das Fleisch schmeckte vorzüglich vom Holzofengrill, die Beilagen konnte man Individuell dazu Auswählen. Das Ambiente hat uns auch gefallen, so kommen wir bestimmt ein weiteres mal vorbei.

Das Restaurant führt seinen Namen nicht umsonst. Es ist sehr gemütlich und etwas nostalgisch eingerichtet. Das Essen schmeckte hervorragend. Die Wirtin im Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir waren mit Freunden hier und waren sehr angetan, kurz gesagt es hat alles gepasst. Wenn wir wieder in der Nähe sind, werden wir sicher wieder einkehren

Went to this bistro for dinner on a Monday night, when many of the other restaurants in the area were closed. The service was excellent and staff were attentive. The food was quite good and well presented. Nice atmosphere, located in the old town area, a couple blocks from the abbey cathedral. Prices a bit higher than expected, a bit fancier than other bistros, more of a fine restaurant. There was a special event of some type going on in the adjacent bar, so we were treated to some excellent piano music, courtesy of the guest pianist.
