Reviews on Filipino food in Tagaytay, Cavite Province, Philippines. Tagaytay, officially and commonly called Tagaytay City, (Filipino: Lungsod ng Tagaytay), is a component city in the province of Cavite, in the Philippines. It is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations because of its outstanding scenery and cooler climate provided by its high altitude. Tagaytay overlooks Taal Lake in Batangas and provides views of Taal Volcano Island in the middle of the lake through various vantage points situated in the city.

My balikbayan friends were looking for Filipino dishes. We ordered sinigang, beef steak and crispy prawn. Huge serving great big groups. Although the acoustics of place was unnerving. You can clearly hear the cutlers clinking on plates and dishes.

I was impressed when we arrived seeing the view of Taal volcano. The place is huge and cozy. As the night came the lights added life and colors to the restaurant. I would say the foods tasted well especially their Lomi. There was a band while we're eating which was able to play my favorite Ang Huling El Bimbo.

Usually when we travel we usually have a group of around 10 people (family). Some establishments struggle with size of group. This place didnât and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The views were the cherry on top. Bravo

3-way adobo (pork, beef flakes & chicken in a single dish), beef bulalo, seafood aligue, baked bone marrow + adobo pate & toast, lechon manok tinupig sa gata, baked sugpo sa taba ng talangka, to taste the least. All are delicious & sumptuous. In nostalgic Filipino ambience. Apparently owned & operated by the Barrio Fiesta chain of restos. Staff service is good. Clean surroundings & toilet.

Great great food! It all started with the very spacious parking area, which I am very particular with when visiting places. We were also accommodated quickly and hospitably. Our server was really nice and helpful in recommending to us some dishes. I had the Corned Beef with Poached Eggs and it was incredibly good. We also ordered a side of Fries that came with their home-made ketchup and wow. Its a bit pricey, but definitely worth your money. This restaurant is a must go-to for breakfast. Would definitely recommend this place for everyone visiting Tagaytay to try out.

This is by far the most instagrammable place I have been to. The rooms are picture perfect in all corners. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. The tour around the secret garden is very educational. The staff knows a lot about the plants! The waiters give some bits of information about the food too which makes the dining experience even more enjoyable.

ALWAYS MAKE A RESERVATION AND PREORDER for excellent results. Call 09222913869 at least a day before. Chef Medi is VERY responsive, and she can make wonderful accommodations to the strangest of diets.Nanay Cirila's: A name that can be quite misleading. Such a title usually evokes a humble characterization: that of an old lady in a duster, diligently roasting coffee beans in a smoky, soot-lined kitchen. The Nanay Cirila might have been that once upon a time, but we'll never know until we ask. Best to keep that part fantastic. Chef Medi, on the other hand, does come off as humble. Her restaurant, food, and the experience she gave us is anything but. We parked in her driveway, welcomed by rain and a wonderful garden, characteristic of that part of the country that most cityfolk consider to be a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of the Metro. But only until one gets inside does one feel as though the escape from the city has truly been accomplished. We dined exclusively, free to be as comfortable as we wanted in her dining hall. The space is wide, lit and ventilated naturally, although artificial lighting and ventilation is available. It feels like home instantly. Heavy wooden furniture give you a stable and secure feeling while the paintings that generously occupy her walls evoke natural calm. Displays of Harley Davidson Motorcycles call to the free spirited while the display of emerald coloured blown glass remind one of the delicateness of a sweet old grandmother. The bathroom does not disappoint either. We only needed to wait a few minutes for our food to be served since Chef Medi called earlier to confirm our time of arrival. A true Master, professional and passionate in her field, or in this case, kitchen. To the refular diner, the idea of preordering does not bode well, and we Filipinos have a tendency to be fickle with our choices. However, the anticipation for the pre-ordered food was perfectly satisfied by the sensual experience of the dishes: Everything looked, smelled, and tasted great, in a manner that appeals differently for each diner. Being a vegetarian, it can be quite difficult to be satisfied with the usual options available, but I was right to skip fasting for the day in her dining room. Pre-ordering, Chef Medi said, gives her a general idea of what her guests would be like, and it is from there that she seems to get the idea of how to tailor the recipes to suit individual preferences. Nanay Cirila's was and still is a producer of Kapeng Barako. The refillable servings of coffee are generally satisfactory, but I was right to bring home beans for myself, because once you make your own brew for your own needs, you finally get the strong and dark flavour with tangy, citrusy hints that make the variant popular. Chef Medi stayed with us for a good part of the luncheon, both to satisfy our curiosities and also to be the wonderful host that she is truly. It is her character reflected in her space and her food, and that is the experience that one would be truly grateful to have had, and to look forward to having again. Thanks a million for this ever so touching review, Lui; very much appreciated because you really put us in the map for all the foodies out there... No other words! We definitely wish to see you again very soon! Thanks again very much...

This was our first visit to this new restaurant after they changed the name and concept. We liked the ambiance. We were glad that they now had available vegetarian options after we talked with the chef. They were very accommodating and made our dinner really pleasant. We intend to go back.Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to give us detailed review, most especially in giving our Chefs vegetarian options in the menu, as the saying goes --- development is one of the main ingredients to a successful outcome. We highly appreciate your kind words and excellent rating. Our favorite part of your review, we will admit, is when you firmly expressed your plan to visit again. See you again soon!
