We ordered our food and also ordered two large Halo Halo desserts. What makes the halo halo special is the mixture of many treats, like jelly, purple ice cream, kidney beans, leche flan, palm nuts and crushed ice. (can't recall all the ingredients) It gives it an intersting taste. This dessert made me full. Chowking and most of the restaurants in Gaisano mall are always full, my tip is to have a friend order the meal, while you find a table, where the people are almost finished eating, and wait till they are done. I call it the restaurant version of musical chairs :) The food is not expensive and good value for your buck.
The cupcake shop in Iligan where everyone goes to have their dose of delicious and pretty designed cupcakes. They currently have 2 branches in the city and you will still find it hard to find some sitting on busy hours. Be sure to visit them early to mid-afternoonThe staff and service is quick to entertain customers and the foot traffic, however saturated may it be at times, is bearable. You can opt to dine in or buy cupcakes for take away.My favorite food to order is their chicken pesto pasta with a cupcake or two and a glass of warm fresh kalamansi juice. The food and cupcakes are on point every time I dine there.

Other than the famoes Durian shake and Randang dishes, Iligan also offers entertainment services for their guests. The have hourly rental videoke rooms. The rooms do need some new paint and such. And sometimes the microphone does not work well. But the staff are very accommodating despite how busy the place can get.It is stillone of the option for us when we decide to go singing and have a videoke session when out with friends.

A couple of friends recommended Fontina to us and we arranged to meet there for lunch. Our friends recommended the Vegetable Soup to start as it was apparently freshly made. The time we waited for it to arrive seemed to support this. Unfortunately the Soup, although a generous portion, seemed rather watery and bland. No matter onto the main course, which, in my case involved the helpful waiter putting my Greek Salad in front of me whilst I held my Soup Bowl aloft in order to finish the contents. My Greek Salad was fine although the dressing was just a concoction of oil and dried herbs, no evidence of any other ingredients and no hint of garlic, also no opportunity for it to marinate as it was served in a small jug. Result, bland taste. My wife's Salmon was much better, and the platter of Garlic Rice she shared with one of our friends was fine. Our friend was something of a favoured customer so I was suprised to see that his Grilled Tilapia was dried out and resembled a Fossil. Hiscompanion was sensible and just had a coffee and a Brownie.

I went for a family dinner here with a party of 12. The restaurant is fairly new, my wifes family has not been there before and hadnt heard of it so it was good to go somewhere new. The restaurant itself is quite small, there are less than 10 tables, so food comes out reasonably quick. We ordered two of the family chicken packs (24 pieces), pancit, kinilaw, rice, and they cooked up a vegetable dish from a chicken chopsuey for us as we had 2 vego's and their vegie menu was quite small. The food was ok, the kinilaw was very good and so was the chopsuey, but the chicken was dry and so was the pancit. When we ordered our food the waiter didnt take any drink orders from us and we had to ask for drinks when our food came out, so we sat there for 15mins with no drinks, not real good. Overall the food was hit and miss, not bad but seeing as they are a chicken house i'd think the chicken would be very good. They have a decent menu, and quite a few steaks to choose from, so id be willing to go back to try them and give the place another chance. Its not the worst place in iligan to eat, but its not the best either

While ive never actually eaten in at Lai Lai's, we always order some of their pancit, palabok and lumpia for every family get together or special ocassion. It has always been very good, using fresh ingredients and reasonably cheap. I jave always meant to eat in there but as we are always getting takeout from there we never end up getting to it.

We have dined here a few times since my last review but our visits are getting lesser. The food is consistently okay, about the best there is in terms of Grilled food in Iligan and the service is consistently quick and efficient. What we didn't like is the lack of WiFi and when it came to paying the bill, there was no signal so we could not pay by credit card. Yet we feel this is more of an excuse as the last 4 times the excuse was the same. Cash is king now as business has slowed in this new political environment. New rating 7/10We sincerely apologized for the inconvenience. We are trying to improve our services and amenities. This year, we have changed our credit card machine it is now faster to charge. Our wifi connection is under repair and upgrade. Hoping to serve you, our dear guests in a improved ways with better amenities in your next visit. Glad to see you again ma'am/sir and really appreciate your honest feedback. This serves as our guide to be a much more convenient restaurant to dine. Thank you so much ! " Mabuhay po kayo "

Gina's BBQ Xpress is on the homegrown brands in Iligan City. I love their barbecue. Meat is tender and sauce is spot-on for the Filipino taste. Best paired with their own palapa and vinegar. (Palapa is a traditional Maranao condiment). Their salted egg is also a must-try. Just make sure to ask for the vinegar with palapa.
