The fish was very good, it was very white and well cooked, it was also a good portion, mushy peas were nice as was the curry sauce. The only slight let down was the chips which did not look great but tasted ok, there were a lot of hard crispy ones on the plate. The staff could be a little more discreet during their conversations whilst not serving. We would definately return though.

We ordered a big portion of cod and a big portion of cod and chips. The pieces of fish were enormous, nicely battered and really tasty. The chips were good too. One portion was enough for 2. It was very quiet in the late afternoon. We didn't have to wait long and the meal was served piping hot. The only negative thing was the dirty floor.
First Thomi we have tried this takeaway Staff very friendly and menu has a wide selection at reasonable prices. We enjoyed our meals immensely, good size portions and quality ingredients It easily rivals any other Indian. Will gladly order again.Try it if you havenât before, itâs well nice

SOUTH WEST REGION WINNER AND TOP TEN FINALIST FISH & CHIP SHOP OF THE YEAR 2014This famous Fish and Chip shop is now under new private ownership. The menu is committed to using sustainable resources and potatoes supplied from our local merchant. All our me
Chips werenât great and the curry sauce was very thick and gloopy. Portion size between large and small chips was not a great deal. Will give them another go to see if there is improvement.

Short walk away from the Pannier Market that does simple food very well. Staff are friendly without being over tentative. The prices are very reasonable and the food is hot.It may look dated but this hides a great place to come for simple meals that the whole family will enjoy.

The Original Pasty House is a cafe, takeaway and delivery restaurant in Tavistock Devon, offering friendly eat in table service and fast takeaway. We serve a great selection of traditional West Country pasties, freshly made baguettes & sandwiches, toasted
Visited as a family, staff were VERY nice & we had real pastyâs in.Wanted pasties to take away but all they had were hot, took 4 but when reheated were very dry, maybe our fault?Pasties in store were tasty but very dry on the edge, possibly due to being heated for a while (it was raining)Very tasty but could do better.Hi, Thank you for your review. I am pleased you found the service to be good and the staff friendly. Our customers receiving excellent customer service is very important to us.I am disappointed however, that you found the quality of your pasty not up to our expected standard. We bake fresh pasties throughout the day and monitor quality. However, on this occasion we have let you down. We hope you visit us again soon and we can restore your confidence in us.

Has the owner/chef changed? We have been getting take-always from here for 15 years but the last 2 have not been good: chewy chicken, not the melt-in-the-mouth chicken weâve been used to. The curry we had on Saturday night was just awful - oil was literally dripping all over the bag and all containers were sodden with oil. We had a Phall and a Vindaloo but the sauces were the same; just one with chicken and the other prawns. Chicken saag was oily and tasteless. Even the pilau rice was oily. We will not be going back for a third time this year - needs improvement quickly or business will fall away as we are used to better here!

Stopped here as a half way stop on a cycle ride, mid-morning on a Saturday. The cafe had only one spare table with a variety of guests from cyclists, walkers, dogs and dog walkers, local residents. One of the three young friendly waitresses took our order, we had bacon/sausage baps and lemon cake with tea and hot chocolate. Food came quickly, was delicious and hot. Good portion sizes. Would definitely return again.
