Coming from a northern seaport boasting 2 large Papas restaurants, I found this Somerset outlet was well appointed with friendly staff, but my fillet did not come up to the usual Papas standard, possibly due to it having been unavoidably frozen in transit. Whilst the fish meat & batter were OK, the base of the serving was hard & inedible. Again, this might have been due to the restaurant`s distance from the relevant fishing port.

Spent the day in Weston so called here for lunch. Staff were helpful and friendly. On Sundays they have gluten free so I had fish, chips and curry sauce, my husband had normal. Lovely food, nice portions. It's more expensive than my chip shop. When the bill came I noticed we were charged £1 extra for gluten free fish & chips and 50p for curry sauce. I know it costs more for the flour etc but felt penalised for a dietary requirement. I hope vegetarians are treated the same, as they choose their diet. Hi Chellb, thank you for taking the time to review our shop. We are thrilled you enjoyed the gluten free fish and chips, and your husband also enjoyed his. I apologise for the extra cost incurred by gluten free items, it may help if I explain why it occurs. Due to offering a full gluten free day on sundays it is necessary for us to change around 80 litres of oil on Saturday night in order to secure against cross contamination. Add to that the extra labour and materials required to create a separate cooking zone with separate utensils, the significantly higher cost of the raw materials etc and we have ended up charging a surcharge for the gluten free items. As a shop we think itâs really important to offer our food to as many people as possible, and donât want to discriminate against people by refusing to cater for their dietary requirements. Unfortunately economics force us to ensure that those products remain viable.

Service was good. Food was okay. Paid £10 each for fish and chips so was expecting it to be really nice. Fish was lovely, chips were under cooked and the vinegar was so watered down it didnât taste of anything. Not great value for money, was a bit disappointed â¹ï¸

Went there after a visit to the theatre. Very friendly staff and polite. Great juicy fish in good batter and chips. Well seasoned. Very enjoyable. Nice restaurant although could have done with an extra scrub of the tables! Will return and can recommend. Perhaps a little pricey but it is Weston super mare lol

I ordered a take away for collection. The food was spot on time and just was tasty as it I was eating in ! There was no change on quality or quantity as I was taking away. Salt and pepper chicken was really good
