Things to do in Warkworth
This is a very user friendly business always a great welcome and friendly smile The team remember your orders but always check that you are not wanting something different or extra Well priced beautifully prepared snapper always piping hot never greasy a nice fish and chip and burger outlet Well done I enjoy my Friday night âtakeaway â
Located conveniently off State Highway 1 Warkworth at The Grange. Good area to call into whether travelling North or South. However, we expected at least a small area for kids to play but there is nothing. It's a small place that looks as if it's designed to deter you from staying. The staff inside do not try to assist you with electronic ordering and paying system though it is easy to use. The cleanliness is average and the toilets dark and dingy. It's seems to me McDonald's have missed a trick with this cafe. The queues are not too bad compared to when it first opened, whether this is a reflection of the people being complacent or not returning. You can get all the usual Maccas food here but you might want to drive through rather than drop off!

This was one of the original 'fish and chips' places in Leigh before it acquired more sophisticated options - is still a great place to get fish and chips and walk/drive down to the wharf - or picturesque cemetery at the end of the road to eat them.

I continue to go back to Fishnets. I found this place late last year and have been there half a dozen times since and the food is continually great. The menu is very simple however the food not. The chips are crispy and coasted in lemon pepper seasoning. There is always 3 fish options and i always go for Hoki being the cheapest but it is very nice and the batter is light on all battered seafood. They also serve burgers. My meal is always presented in a polystyrene container with a wedge of lemon and some tomato sauce.I really like this place and stop whenever i am traveling thru.
Made a chance stop at Gourmet Burger Co and had one the best burgers I have every enjoyed. The coffee and thick shake were also amazing as was the service. Will definitely come back. Almost worth a trip from Auckland just for a burger!

Went there while our normal F&C shop was being redecorated. K&J's (kept the original owner's initials from years ago) were once an award winning place. Now the posters and newspaper clippings on the walls showing giant fish caught locally, have rust marked staples, and faded colour prints. Those observations were an indication that I was waiting for ages and had time to examine the decor.Had to stand up the whole time, nothing to read, and it seemed like an eternity. The F&C were very very average, and they did not do crumbed fish, although they would happily crumb a Mar's Bar! Pretty oily taste showed they were not drained properly. This place shouldn't be compared with Warkworth's other restaurants and Cafe's. It shouldn't even BE in this section. Pretty greasy, grimy, depressing place. Sadly I won't be returning.

I felt like fish and chips, rather than asking the locals I looked at trip advisor for recommendations. The chips and banana fritter were really nice, crispy and clean, I would go back again for these but that's were it would stop. The hotdog was warm not hot and the fish I was unable to eat, it tasted like the fish had been soaked in chemicals. The place looks dark and despite other reviews saying it was busy, it was empty. The staff (Indians) were talking non stop in there Language so it wasn't a nice atmosphere.
