Sherbrooke is situated at the confluence of the Saint-François (St. Francis) and Magog rivers in the heart of the Estrie administrative region. Sherbrooke is also the name of a territory equivalent to a regional county municipality (TE) and census division (CD) of Quebec, coextensive with the city of Sherbrooke. With 161,323 residents at the 2016 census, Sherbrooke was the sixth largest city in the province of Quebec and the thirtieth largest in Canada. The Sherbrooke Census Metropolitan Area had 212,105 inhabitants, making it the fourth largest metropolitan area in Quebec and nineteenth largest in Canada.

What brought me to Louis wasn't just the fact that they prepare what is supposed to be the best poutine in Sherbrooke. No, it's the fact that their poutine has been voted the best one in the Eastern Townships! As a poutine lover, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to give it a try!Louis has been in business for 70 years and the place is filled with locals. If this isn't a vote of confidence, I don't know what is.I went for a large classic poutine. At 9.80$ plus taxes, it's not exactly cheap. But the portion is big and they're generous with both the cheese and the gravy.Every time I'm on a roadtrip around Québec, you always hear about these so-called best poutines of the region, yada yada yada. And in the end, though they scratch that itch, they're never really worth the detour.Louis' poutine, however, was definitely worth it. It's easy to understand why it was voted best poutine in the Eastern Townships!So if you find yourself in Sherbrooke or are vacationing in the Eastern Townships and you're craving for a delicious poutine, Louis is where you need to go!

We discovered this little gem in the Eastern Townships tourist booklet. When we arrived, we weren't sure about the place because it was in the same building as a spa. However, the young lady who served us and prepared our food was so pleasant. Although the menu was in French and she was not sure of her English, she immediately made us feel at ease. The food was delicious and the presentation exquisite. We were so glad we found this little gem!Hi Mr Steven. Thank you so much for the nice comment. This little restaurant has been there forever!With the new owners comes with a fresh new menu!From homemade fries, Hamburgers, Pizza, fish exc. Thé Dégustateur is the best little fast food in Sherbrooke Québec!Donât forget to try the coconut pie!
