I do not understand how this place has so many good reviews! From inside it looks like Mc Donalds and it smells extremely like fried food. By the time you leave your hair will smell horrible. The burrito was very average and to charge 10 Q for a table spoon of guacamole is ridicolous. Very bad experience!Hi Miriam! We appreciate you taking the time to write. First let me say I'm sorry you didn't have a great experience. We just put a new industrial fryer in the restaurant, and it's still not in its final placement. So the fried food smell is spot on. Sorry that it ruined your experience. As for why the restaurant has so many good reviews, I would hope it's due to what the food stands for, promoting fair trade organic produce from local farmers, paying fair wages to staff, and generally, a nice dining experience. Apparently we didn't meet the mark with you though, and so we apologize sincerely. Hope you'll give us another shot some day, and regardless, thank you for supporting Guatemala's first socially responsible fast food restaurant!

Gran Alcázar is a local pizzeria shop in Quetzaltenango. It offers a mix of Italian and Guatemalan techniques and ingredients. Service available are to go and home delivery.
This restaurant is specifically for takeout or food to go. You can call and for an inexpensive price you'll have it delivered to your home within the city limits. There is an interesting mix of special Italian and Guatemalan flavours (eg, Chancol cheese and Tecpan's renowned longanizas). Most importantly there is also vegeterian options. So if you don't want to leave home in this rainy season this is an excellent place to call!Thank you so much for your opinion we hope you enjoyed our pizzas, please keep in touch and let us know more about your thoughts on the mix of ingredients.

Jaffa Av is such a fantastic stop for tourists and locals. The shop was filled with locals when I came, seems to be the big hit for working folks in the nearby offices. The host, Francisco, is kind, funny, gives great traveling tips and speaks flawless english. His business was inspired by a trip to Israel. The food is a surprisingly delightful Guatemalan and Israeli fusion. He refuses to make anything that doesn't taste good enough or similar enough (due to limited Guatemalan materials). This is huge: a lot of places will make bad imitations in order to sell-out. He only offers food options when he masters it. He is a true foodie, great host, and fantastic chef. Thank you for the cozy cafe & great time!!Dear Natasha: Thank you very much for your review, im very happy to know that you enjoyed your visit, the food and all the concept. What i most enjoy is to give to the customers-friends the best experience when they visit Jaffa Av. and to advise them about what to do or visit in Guatemala and Xela. Thank you for your kind comments, im very exited to keep working to make people happy with the Jaffa experience, i hope to see you back in Jaffa Av, will be a pleasure to have you here again . Kindly Regards,
