Never been here before but on a Sunday afternoon we were lucky to get a seat. Very good service and the food was great. Everybody had empty plates. One observation was that the potatoes had not had the eyes removed resulting in quite a few chips with black ends. If this were to be rectified then this would be 5 start for me

First time here tonight. Staff all happy and friendly. Good menu. Got haddock and chips , onion rings and curry sauce to take away. The onion rings were eaten on my way home ......yum , yum. They were home made and very nice indeed. The fish and chips with the curry was just beautiful. I cannot recommend enough ; I'll definitely be going back for more

Enjoyed fish and chips on a quiet mid-week evening. My mighty cod was indeed mighty, and delicious. Service timely, but a little "matter of fact", lacking a personal touch, which is why I've marked down to 4 stars. Certainly one of the best "chippies" in the vicinity, and has been for a number of years, Will certainly visit again - hopefully, next time, the waitress might be a little more friendly.

Weâve moved to the area quite recently and we thought weâd try the local chippy, we decided to sit in. Itâs a spotless little place, the staff were lovely and the haddock and chips was fantastic not greasy, very fresh we also had tea and bread and butter. £18 worth every penny. Was an early February night when we went and the queue for the take away never stopped.great to think we have such a good chippy on our doorstep.

With a lifetimeâs background in the catering industry and running a town centre chippy that pre-dates just about every other town centre takeaway in Poulton, itâs hardly surprising that this place has an excellent reputation and a loyal clientele.The owner (Christian) is on first name terms with his regulars and knows what they want before they do. He cut back on things like kebabs a while ago to concentrate mainly on what he has mastered â good old basic fish and chips (though you can sill purchase pies and sausages). He also cut back on the opening hours despite the temptation of later night diners â why serve food to people too ârelaxedâ to know what they are eating?He has achieved a raft of awards along the way and prides himself on selecting the best sustainable produce around.There's small eating in facility upstairs too - and an even smaller one on the ground floor.

When we entered the restaurant mid afternoon, one of our group greeted the staff with a friendly "Ola". This did not appear to go down well with the manager who told the waitress to put our small group in a corner table in an almost empty restaurant. We ordered a starters, small plates and drinks. One of the group has food allergies and asked for a dish without sauce and was told that this was boring! Rather that than ill. We decided to cut our losses and leave after this. Don't get me wrong, the food was good but the attitudes need improvement. Over £100 including tip for a forty minute visit.Thanks for coming to dine with us and great to hear you enjoyed your food. I spoke to the manager working yesterday and he remembers talking with you and thought he'd had a pleasant exchange, it's sounds like his 'boring' was was met as well as your 'ola', maybe they were lost in translation! He asked me to pass on his apologies if you thought there was any underlying current :-)I asked him which table he'd seated you at and it was the large sharing table in the window, many people like this as it has a nice view but as you say, the restaurant was quiet at the time you visited so if you'd asked we'd have happily moved tables for you.Anyway, hope we see you again, when I'm sure you'll be greeted with a smile :-)

First time visit here on a recommendation. Good central location and handy for shops nearby, and also theatre visits - The Grand or Winter Gardens. This restaurant is spacious and clean, offers a good menu and has very pleasant friendly staff to serve you. PLUS our Haddock & Chips were delicious too !!We shall be returning soon.
