Dark and tattered. Seeking the bright clean Isaly's of years gone by, Those days boasted, chipped ham bar-b-Que sandwiches, fountain shakes, rainbow ice cream and eager service from folks adorned with white uniforms with soda jerk paper hats. I was reluctant to stay at this strange place, incense burning at a make-shift alter to an image of an Asian god. The incense added to the feeling of death. This Islay's felt like an old restaurant in its final death spiral. I steeled myself and ordered an Italian sub. Following an extended wait for the food despite few other courageous patrons the sandwich accompanied with stale ripple potato chips arrived. The toasted sandwich was fine, a crusty roll and generous fillings. Subway could borrow some tips here.This is a most unfortunate venue seeming to be on life-support in the dirty decaying corpse that is the former vital and welcoming town of Turtle Creek. It would be an O.K. place to have a sandwich if one didn't mind pleasant memories being tarnished.

I live nearby and often walk to Jimâs. Although Iâve never gotten their special sauce which they are known for, I always get hot dogs with sauerkraut. Itâs the best dog/sauerkraut Iâve ever tasted. Cute little sitting area with picnic tables outside. No eat in service. Always great service.
