In a city of great pizza, itâs hard to stand out. New Pizza Pizzeria has been in business for over 60 years and is an old time favorite with great pizza. They serve the crust crispy with fresh sauce and cheese. Itâs perfect.

If you've never had NYC pizza, I suggest you try this first. The pizza is thin crust and comes to you piping hot, super cheesy and salty!! (Perfect pizza combo in my humble opinion) The place is small and you have to stand at the counter to order, but they move quickly and get you in and out in about 5 minutes on most days. Definitely worth a try when you're in town!
An awesome family owned neighborhood delicatessen. It's been there for over 30+ years. Very popular with JFK/airline workers, police/fire/EMS, city workers etc. Hard to find these types of places anymore. I can't thank my friend enough for taking me there. Friendly service, even to us out of town tourist, LOL. Good selection of hot/cold sandwiches and other main meal items. The hero sandwiches are stuffed full of meat/veggies. I thought it was a good value for what I got. Small picnic table area out back and one table up front so seating is very limited. First come, first seated. Most of their business is take out. If I lived/worked nearby I would go there couple times a week!!
I remember days gone by when I would make POPEYE my first stop after arriving from overseas. Not anymore, the new [not improved] Popeye has taken on a WEIRD taste with unrecognizable spices, too much breading, and greasy. What happened to the good old sides dishes originating from New Orleans? I don't go to Popeye's any more.
