Poor service as usual with the lady behind the counter preferring to talk to other customers behind me instead of worrying about what I was ordering. Pies were soft on the outside like they had recently seen the inside of a microwave. Filling was ok but nothing to write home about. As a pie lover from the south this wasn't a great experience.

In downtown Irkutsk there is no need to go to expensive fancy places to eat. The local baozi place on the Japanese sounding street of Kanadzava is the answer for a hungry traveller on a tight budget. I came here in the evening. the place was not empty, people were coming and leaving. Quite a popular hangout. I ordered and paid at the counter, took a seat and waited for my food. I ordered six pozy(local baozi) and a cup of hot tea. It was around 200-300 rubles. They have alcohol as well - beer and vodka. It was raining cats and dogs outside so I enjoyed being at this cosy and warm place.
