Staff was very friendly, service was fast, and food was very good. Thinking about the appearance of so many restaurants, I want to emphasize how clean this store was. All food service brands and locations should be clean, but unfortunately, that is not the case. Congratulations Chicken Express. Hope you can maintain your standards.
Best Southwestern food near Haughton, Louisiana, United States
This Zaxby's is on US Highway 71, near the Kansas City Southern Railroad tracks, at the far southern end of Bossier City. It's south of the Jimmie Davis Bridge, which is the most southern bridge across the Red River in the Shreveport - Bossier metropolitan area, and just a mile or so south of the Century Link Center. It's not a bad area, with some new stores and homes nearby. It's in the flat Red River flood plain. With all that being said, I like visiting this Zaxby's location. There aren't too many of them in the Ark-La-Tex area, and they have items on their menu that you don't find at other fast food chicken restaurants. They have a nice selection of salads, which they call "Zalads". They also feature chicken fingers. To me it's worth a detour to eat at Zaxby's because it's different and the food is tasty. Also the people behind the counter are friendly and make you feel welcome. They have plenty of free parking, as well as a drive thru window.
Fat Tuesday Sandwich Shop is a small, mom-and-pop bakery in Bossier City with about 25 sandwiches and a half dozen salads on their menu, plus daily soup specials and weekly limited-time-only burgers. Plus there's a pie case! They play zydeco music and the place has a very Louisiana feel. I liked the muffuletta melt that I ordered and will probably go back with out-of-state visitors who are looking for a lunch spot with a Louisiana vibe.

Big, greasy, good-tasting cheeseburgers, hot fries, and a big drink for 7 bucks. What's not to like? The burger was nicely done, and wrapped in paper...just like I like it...the staff was loud, the decor wasn't much, and the place can get very busy, but the food came out quickly...and was disposed of just as quickly! Not bad at all! Just don't go in looking for a salad or anything else healthy.
