Down in Hastings today for the New R.N.L.I. Lifeboat. There was also a Classic Motor Cycle Show. When feeling Hungry, we went to The Lifeboat Restaurant. This is a Good Old Fashioned Fish & Chip Shop. Where you pay, Cash Only. No Latte Coffee's, just Fish & Chips with a Slice of Bread & Butter & a Cup of Tea. As the saying goes, it does what it says on the Tin.

Want something filling that wont leave the pocket empty..... This is the nuts !!!! Decent seating area with parasols if by chance it rains.... Turret tower to die for, pork burger, even a standard Hotdog is superb.... As you probably can tell... I have had a couple of snacks at this place...... Some strange people on the seats but food is enough to take your mind away from them. The mutts nuts..,..

17 of us descended on this gem of a fish and chip shop. Managed to squeeze us all in upstairs on a number of tables and took order quickly with food served straight after being cooked. Great food. Chips all handmade and cooked and soft on inside but crisp on outside. Fish saveloy and scampi were same all cooked beautifully, highly rated as canât stand soggy chips or oily batter. Great fish and chip shop. Well done

In the area for a few days over new year and saw this on TA.We love chinese and wanted to introduce our little ones to dim sum and something other than âfried riceâ etc..Did not disappoint.. all the dim sum - both steamed and fried were delicious and the accompanying dishes were also excellent.The team and staff were very friendly and clearly loved what they do.In the words of my 9 year old son.. âI would give it a 6 if I couldâHighly recommended Thank you

We stopped here on our way home from a day drip to the coast, the staff were friendly and polite, made sure we had every thing we needed from napkins to forks and advised where the best spot was to gain access to the beach to eat our supper! We all thoroughly enjoyed or fish and chips and they were cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend. Prefect end to a lovely day out.Thank you.

Friendly, helpful staff, fish cooked to order, nothing piled up and getting soggy in the hot box, chips crispy outside and fluffy inside. You see the same faces each week ordering their takeaway, so they obviously have loyal regulars. Especially recommend the fresh Huss, so much better than the frozen.

Most of the fish and chip shops in Hastings vary in quality in one way or another but the Blue Dolphin seems to have slipped quite dramatically. The main thing is the presentation of the staff. They look like theyâve been pulled in off the street for some work experience. No uniform, just random street wear caked in dirt and grease. The food itself was mediocre at best. The seagulls got most of it. Time to find somewhere else I think but most of the chippyâs in Hastings are pretty poor so maybe a new town entirely is something I need to find. I doubt Iâd go again.

Went to hastings for the day and treated our family to chip dinner at the Neptune Please don't go in there Other than the young waitresses being sweet that was as nice as it got Chips were hard crispy like they'd been refried a dozen times over my battered sausage needed a saw to cut through and was not like a sausage inside it was white!! I asked for a large sausage for my son they don't do large ssusage so was given two except two didn't even make up for one! My curry sauce was not chip shop curry sauce it was a packet mixed with water totally inedible even though I complained nothing was rectifiedMy partners burger tasted cheap and greasy Stay away!!!

Undoubtedly fantastic fish and chips. Dropped a point due to unfriendly, borderline judgemental staff and needing to pay for tiny ketchup sachets despite there being an abundance of ketchup bottles. Free sauce is what makes âeating in cost moreâ according to the staff so make sure you get your moneyâs worth...
