For foreigners spending more than a couple weeks in Guilin, I would definitely recommend this McDonalds. The atmosphere is better than most McDonalds because they have a McCafe and updated furniture. The food is good and the staff have always been helpful when we visited. The McCafe employees even remember my wife's order and greet her cheerfully each time she comes in. This McDonalds is withing the Nancheng Department Store building, next to the big Exposition Center. There are a few nice shops inside (mostly knock-offs) and even a genuine Crocs store. There are children flying kites in the meadow in front of the Expo Center, a movie theater not far away, and even an import store nearby.

Good reasonable prices, but crowded place. One of my student just placed her bag at the seat next to her, suddenly it was lost and the management did not do anything about it!

Shiji means Family Shi (Shi is a popular Chinese family name), Mifen means Rice Noodles. It is an old name in Guilin well known by the locals. At price of 4.5yuan, it is a great dinner option if you want to go light on dinner. Freshly made noodle of the day and deep fried crispy pork are good to go together. But learned it has moved. Check it out on this venue: Xicheng Road, near the cross road of Ximen Bridge, near Bravo Hotel.

Pizza Hut in China is like nothing I'd ever seen before. Unlike American Pizza Huts which are greasy fast-food or delivery joints, in China's Pizza Huts you can sit down for a fancy five-course meal. I usually start with an appetizer and a soup, then my wife and I split a main dish and a gourmet pizza (with shrimp cheesy crust). We finish with cheesecake and a latte or an Oreo milkshake. Seriously!The menu at Pizza Hut is about 20 pages: up there with Cheese Cake Factory. It's really worth going just for the experience. Only in China can you find Pizza Hut's like this. It seems like Chinese come for birthday parties or other special events. My wife and I visit at least once a month for a date night. Having said all that, I have had some mediocre food at Pizza Hut. Usually, 4 out of 5 of the courses I get are great! I always try something new, so sometimes I just picked poorly. But, sometimes, the food just isn't great. The pizza has always been good, though. I've only ever had one problem: they were out of larges; plenty of medium-size pizza, but no larges [Only in China]. And service is better than most Chinese restaurants, but it is still China. You will probably have to yell for your waiter if you need anything; usually wait staff does not come to check on you.

Wonderful peaceful evening with family, good food and very very welcoming stuff. The hotel, where the restaurant is place is very cosy ! Despite the address, the restaurant is not inside the expensive tourist area.The buffet is popular among locals. Its recommended to come in early or make a reservation. Its not 100% vegan but 100% vegetarian. The buffet had a good spread and was tasty. The staff did not speak english so communication was an issue. Though not far from Guilin city centre or tourist area, the pricing was very good. Worth a try when in Guilin.

After a long trip and many days in the countryside the kids were oh so happy to find McDonalds. They had their regular favorites in this upstairs restaurant busy with many young customers. We noticed that the preferred burger was a certain McSpicy, with fried chicken. It was really nice and delivered on its name.

Rice noodles at Chongshan can date back to the 60's, people claim. It has many branches throughout Guilin and also serve lunch and dinner dishes besides rice noodles. I love their steamed tofu with salted egg! Rice noodle is RMB4 for small bowl (er liang), general lunch/dinner dish ranges from RMB10 - 20.
