Went here this weekend. Sanchos is reasonably clean. If you are going to eat for a healthy diet or are on a diet forget about looking at the menu. sanchos sells good processed meat foods. Want a burger, pizza donna have it. Loaded with fat and saturates, moderation would be a good idea.
Visiting the market for the first time in a couple of months we decided to try this for a bite for lunch having seen it on previous visits. Although the market was fairly quiet (it was a Wednesday) it was lunchtime but there was nobody behind the counter. We waited a few minutes and a young man appeared talking on his mobile, and we waited a few more minutes while he finished his call. The menu lists various options, from different pies, wraps, burgers and so on, but ominously none were on show in the cabinet. He then informed us that he had no pies of any description (which we wanted), no wraps and the only thing he had was a burger (and not even the chicken burger or gourmet burger). He didnât say that they had run out (it was only about 1pm anyway), just that he didnât have any. So despite a tempting, competitively priced and varied menu displayed, none was available apart from the burger which we had.The young man was polite, cooked the burger and chips to order and brought it to our table where we waited. The burger and chips was OK â nothing special but nothing to complain about (and probably better than MacDonalds), the pricing very reasonable and the seating was comfortable. However, the service (in which I include the non-availability of virtually all items on the menu) meant that I can only regard our experience as poor. Maybe the other food items are good and it would be a better experience on a Saturday when presumably it is busier, but from our experience itâs not worth going mid-week (unless you want a burger).
This take-away has been here for many years, during which time Iâve used it periodically. Itâs always been one of the better Chinese take-aways, but despite this Iâve used it a lot less than I would have done had they offered a delivery service. However, not having been for over a year we decided to give it another go.A telephone call established that unfortunately they still donât deliver (in my view they are losing a lot of trade by this decision, but I assume they have costed it) but we ordered anyway. Asked how long it would be was told âfive minutesâ This put me off a bit, as while Chinese cooking is quick, itâs not that quick for four dishes! Pre-cooked and kept warm was the thought that immediately came to mind.As the timing had suggested, I had the impression that much of it had been pre-cooked and simply waiting to be heated and spooned into the containers. This was particularly so with the rice, which seemed as though it had been pre-packed in a container and kept warm and heated for collection as the rice inside was fairly dry and when the foil container was turned upside down it fell out as a solid block! Having said that the food was flavoursome and enjoyable, although I think it has changed hands since we last visited as while it was nice I didnât think it was as good or fresh as I remembered it. Nevertheless, pre-packed rice or not, I would still use it more frequently if they delivered but I am afraid that, as before, it was not sufficiently better or different to a number of take-aways that do deliver to warrant the hassle of driving up to collect it.On more practical matters that might be helpful, there is sufficient (free) parking outside so no problem with collection if driving. The menu is an extensive list of all the usual dishes, with a limited number of Thai and Japanese dishes added since I last went. Prices are reasonable (for example, Kung Po Chicken and similar £5.20, King Prawn Curry £5.40, Fried Rice £2.90 to give a benchmark), and portions good (about the same as most others Iâve been to). You should note that it closes on Tuesday. As for the rating, I would have rated meals in the past as Very Good', but on this occasion we didn't think it lived up to that description, particularly bearing in mind the solidity of the rice. While I would still say it was good (and still probably better than the average take-away in town), Trip Advisor for some reason doesnât provide a rating for 'Good' so my rating of average means good but typical rather than anything worse.

Iâve been coming to Humphries of meopham for years and years. Always had delicious food, and fabulous service and staff. (Andy, Sally and Chloe). I was so shocked and disappointed when I realised that they no longer own the shop. I thought Iâd still continue to buy my fish and chips from here. However, sadly I will not be returning after two bad portions of food, on different occasions from the new owners. I could tell the food wasnât fresh - probably left over from the day before. Itâs very sad, but unfortunately the new ownership doesnât live up to what it used to be and I wonât be returning to Humphries. Never mind, I am sure Iâll find somewhere else to buy my chips!! (Hopefully)

Had food from here before and was impressed, although it was some time ago. It's either changed hands or the chef has changed. We had a meal delivered to us, turned up 40 minutes late, no apology from the driver, food was tepid, the prawn crackers were vile, are they meant to be brown?? Not only were they burnt, they tasted foul, the whole bag went in the bin. The worst prawn crackers we've ever had, they may be thrown in for free, but trust me, the only place they should be thrown, is in the bin. Won't be ordering from here again I'm afraid.

Pleasantly surprised, Tandoori Chicken looked right, salad was fresh...the keema rice very pleased...just a tiny hint of cheese in the flavour. Meal came with a poadum and for once this is an Indian resturant that actually serves a nice sauce to dip in. The water was Buxton and I should add the tandoori Chicken was very tandoori in flavouring, no cutting corners here. Everything arrived warm and well packaged, delivery drivers are polite. I would put this resturant among my favourites.
