I guess I can let you folks in on a local secret. The Hot Dog Guy is from Chicago and brought both product and personality with him to Cave Creek. Over the years he's provided us with really great dogs and great conversation. His push cart operation has moved to various locations in Cave Creek and has settled now in the parking lot of the Pawn Shop at the south end of Cave Creek. He always has parked on the main drag and interestingly always on the same side of the main drag through Cave Creek. It's hard to say which is best, his dogs or his personality. Sadly, good things do not last forever and the Hot Dog Guy has sold his folksy business to young Shawn, who says he is the Hot Dog Daddy. Shawn interned under the Hot Dog Guy for three years and obvously learned the business well. He is every bit as friendly and as good a cook. Same pushcart and three picnic tables with umbrellas that have been a part of the experience over the yearss. If you get over there this season (yes the business is a bit on the seasonal side and only open for noontime eating) you might be lucky enough to meet the Hot Dog Guy, who still pops in once in a while to meet and greet and spin a yarn or two. I always get the Chicago style, but there are several other great choices. They have one with Fritoes in it, that led my daughter who hates hotdogs, to say from now on she will only eat hot dogs with Fritoes on them. So next warm sunny day (or even the two cloudy days a year) drive down the main road (Cave Creek Road) and look for the push cart, umbrellas, and picnic tables. Drive on into the parking lot and prepare for a slice of Americana. It is so nice to do business with a small business that really appreciates your business and honestly and in a friendly way let's you know it. It's right up there as my favorite place to eat in the Phoenix area. Great place to bring out of owners to experience the new old West.

If you haven't tried Firehouse Subs, you won't go back to the others. They offer a nice under-500 calorie menu, which is great. We like to ride our bikes here for lunch when the weather is cool. Subs always taste fresh and the bread is great. There is also a nice beverage selection and place is always clean and friendly.

Small restaurant situstioned in s strip mall near Fryâs grocery. Food is cooked fresh and you can order white or dark meat chicken. The bowls are sufficient. Efficient staff. Never many customers here. Most of the clients do take out. Plenty of parking. Cheap prices
