I was visiting the area and ate here many times because it was so good! The choices included healthy delicious items as well as the amazing rhubarb dessert. The soup and bread was a very good choice when I needed something light and quick. I used the online ordering once and it was very easy. My only complaint was sometimes there was a long line (although it moved fairly quickly).

This one one of the worst hot dog experiences Ever! Thankfully after 2 bites, the young lady returned my money. What happened to firm meaty hot dogs that were steamed, not steeped in water for 24 hours. The hot dog was disgusting. Avoid this place.
We walked in and instantly were greeted and told of specials. Ordered two roast turkey sandwiches, medium size. The staff was quick and polite, They brought our food out, nice and hot with a pickle. We had chips and s drink. Reasonable priced and very tasteful. The bathrooms were clean. We will go back again.

Where to eat Italian food in Bradley: The Best Restaurants and Bars

The cheeseburger, whether single or double, is the best in the area. Fries are figured in the price. I recommend splurging and buying a Green River with your meal. The burgers are so good that I haven't tried their other options, including daily specials. Plan on taking it home or eating in your vehicle. There's room for three people in the lean-to. Buy local, eat local.

There are many reasons to visit Jaenicke's Root Beer Stand at 390 East River Street, off I-57, in Kankakee, Illinois. People have been visiting the iconic restaurant since 1940, long before there was an Interstate highway or McDonald's or Burger King or Wendy's or A&W or Dog 'n Suds. Jaenicke's specializes in home-made root beer, as good or better than A&W drive-ins used to produce, red hots with chili, Chicago-style hot dogs, chili cheese fries, fried pickles, ice cream floats and something unique called "sauce buns." What is a "sauce bun?" Folks in the Kankakee area talk about them all the time. Never duplicated. Never imitated. One of a kind. A "sauce bun" is chili that has a sweet and mild BBQ sauce taste. It isn't served on a hot dog. It's simply a meat sauce with cheese and onions on a warm hot dog bun. Try it with fries and a root beer float. It might change the way you look at food. One thing's for sure: Jaenicke's homestyle root beer is as good as you've ever tasted, in a frosty mug. If you're not into hot dogs (who isn't?), other sandwich options are tenderloin, chicken, Italian beef, BBQ, meatball and Polish. No matter what you choose, be sure to wash it all down with root beer.
