The affluent commuter town is located in the small Bulbourne valley in the Chiltern Hills, 26 miles (42 km) northwest of London. Berkhamsted is a civil parish, with a town council within the larger borough of Dacorum. Since moving to Berko 2 years ago I have enjoyed delicious fish and chips at least once a month. Itâs particularly easy to pop in when I jump off the train after a hard week at work. The guys are always friendly and itâs definitely a service with a smile. Good freshly cooked food. You can eat in too if you want. Parking outside. Give them a try you wonât be disappointed

Went in for two pieces of fish, a portion of chips and a curry sauce at 6.30 on a Tuesday evening. There was no fish, no roe, no steak & kidney pies, one fish cake, maybe three spring rolls, two beef &onion pies, one chicken & mushroom pie and maybe twelve saveloys in a tray of what I assumed to be boiling water. It wasn't.Ended up with a beef & onion pie (okay), a strange gloopy curry sauce, two stone cold saveloys and a miniscule portion of chips. Didn't realise the saveloys were cold until we got them back to our cottage about five minutes later, Microwaved them.Haven't found a good chippy round here. Last time we went looking at about 8.30 one night a fortnight ago, we went to three, none of whom had any fish ready but they would cook while you wait. In the third one we waited for the fish to be cooked, it was okay but small. I might have given them three stars. That seems to be the standard in this area. Really need to find a better chippy now that we've moved down here.

I always use the unicorn fabuloulous food always ,fully recommend to everyone . Had a meal in another yesterday and omg was terrible ,so from now on will not go anywhere else ,never had a bad meal ,Well Done Unicorn xx

Our closest Papajohns was unexpectedly closed for refurbishment so we phoned Berkhamsted to see if they would deliver. The answer was no and with such rude staff that it was impossible to get any further information about delivery and if it was even possible. They laughed at my accent, hung up on us and then when we phoned back, put us through to someone pretending to be a manager. Very poor service. I would recommend almost anywhere else. I think Papajohns should train their staff to handle enquiries in a more professional and less prejudiced manner.
