This one is quite straightforward: good bratwursts and braetel, generously sized, served on fresh bread rolls. It turns out that there are other mobile locations around the centre, incl. outside the Zeiss shopping centre.Fair warning: putting ketchup on your brat or braetel really is like ordering cappuccino in Italy after 11am - it's naff, and it will make you look like a tourist. They taste better just with mustard, anyway. Recommended for a good value bite on the fly.

This is a little green food truck on the Johannisstr. next to the staircase. They have been around in Jena for over a year and can certainly be credited for bringing vegan / vegetarian food in Jena into the mainstream. They have a pretty small menu comprising of about 5-6 burgers but a wide selection of sauces to choose from. The food quality is pretty high and the ingredients are fresh / homemade. The burger patties ranging from Kidney beans to Tofu to Polenta and Hemp are quite creative and not the usual vegetables kind. Moreover, they are always adding interesting stuff to their menu, like the latest vegan Hotdog. Given the low prices you pay for the quality and the taste, you will never want to eat a McD or a Subway sandwich again, even if you are a meat lover!

... mittlerweile bin ich öfter hier und ja es schmeckt hervorragend, ist kreativ und geht sehr schnell. Der Preis passt und die Qualität ist immer ok. Ich bin bei solchen Dingen (Sushi) eher vorsichtig, gerade bei hohen Temperaturen, aber hier hat man sich mittlerweile mein Vertrauen erarbeitet. Deswegen jetzt volle Punktzahl und eine schöne schnelle Art im vorbeigehen zu essen.
