Find out what European restaurants to try in Zihuatanejo. While resorts continue to spring up, "Zihua" remains determined to maintain its small-town flavor. The brick-paved "fisherman's walk," a nod to the region's seafaring roots, stretches along the town center. Because the nightlife is mostly informal, Zihua is particularly appealing to couples and those seeking an escape from coastal party towns.

Zihuatanejo's oldest building, serving excellent food from a seasonal menu and cocktail list since 1979 - CLOSED for the Season - Reopening in November 2019
The food, service and atmosphere at Coconuts in Zihuatanejo was simply perfection. The beautiful courtyard welcomed us into the warm and inviting garden like atmosphere. Our servers were wonderful and very friendly... Clearly well trained for first class service and attention... Best of all was the amazing food. The tuna sashimi was presented and rivaled any I have had in Tokyo and the Hearts of Palm marinated salad simply melted with flavor... The Shrimp scampi and the Shrimp Chile Relleno was gourmet and both were flavor explosions.... Loved it.... To close out our meal was the carmel crepes which ere made at the table. Simply perfection in every way....

Good atmosphere with excellent location, nice italian music, outdoor tables with fans, tables inside with fans and romantic.
We took our Mexican friends here for their anniversary and none of us were disappointed in our excellent Italian cuisine. The bread served with cocktails could have been a little more dense and crusty like true Italian bread. Service was good and waiters spoke English making ordering easier for those who do not speak Spanish. Menu had a nice variety of offering, some pasta was homemade daily. The Caesar salad was very small and not outstanding. Consisted of whole leaves of roamine, maybe 4-5 sparesly scattered parmesan and not much dressing. No offer of anchovies. And it was the equivilant of $6.00. We would not order again. On our next visit I ordered the Mixed Salad and it was better but the serving was also small and I wouldnât order that again either for the cost. All entrees were excellent from the lasagna, ravioli and pasta. Every sauce that was tried was excellent and the servings were large enough that you were salisfied when finished. None of us ordered meat or fish entrees or desserts. Wine was expensive for a bottle of mid-quality chianti. You are better off ordering by the glass.

Went for dinner as the first tuna of the season was available. Started with mixed salads and the lentil soup. Both were good. For mains we all had the Peppercorn Tuna. Quickly seared, tender, cut in four slices, served with rice and veggies. Menu specifies a salad but if you can have either the salad or veggies. Only complaint is the tuna inner was cold, but this is the way they serve it. Washrooms basic and clean, credit cards accepted, excellent service.
