Never expected that someday I will have opportunity to eat mussels à la belge with draught European beer in Yakutsk, but there brasserie E19. Location is prefect, in city center, walking distance from Lenin square and right in heart of Old town district. Interior are lovely designed, with impressive bar stand from massive solid piece of Yakutian wood. I will recommend to try mussels (whole casserole!), tasty stamppot for dinner and great variety of imported draught beers.
For a place that pretends to be an Italian restaurant, it is always amazing to me that they don't make a good tomato sauce, but they don't. If you prefer pasta with a cream sauce, you are in luck. They do not make their own pasta and the range of pasta is surprisingly limited. Other dishes on the menu are ok, but seem to be typical of any Russian or Yakutian place with no hints of Italian influences.
The interior is very nice. The service is excellent. The food is quite good, although some dishes will not be all that authentic. Overall, the place is just a nice place to enjoy a relaxed meal.

The restaurant "Polar star" is located in center of Yakutsk city. The restaurant is a combination of elegance and luxury, of comfort and the best tradition of nothern hospitality. The menu of restaurant offers dishes of European, Italian, Russian and Yaku
The restaurant is foreigner friendly as the menu is both in English and in Russian. There is a main dining room as well as a pizzeria, but the menu is the same for both. The service has been consistently slow every time I have dined here. The menu offers a pretty wide range of dishes, including Yakutian, Russian, Italian food. The Italian food is generally disappointing, certainly not rising above the low standards for Italian cuisine in Yakutsk. The pizzas are the exception and are generally pretty decent by Yakutsk standards. The classic Ceasar salad is a Yakutian variant. For a hotel that pretends to be a 4 star hotel, the restaurant is not going to convince anyone that it is gourmet dining.

I had a Caesar salad, a beef bruschetta, and a cucumber lemonade. When I order a Caesar salad, I am not looking for an unusual interpretation of what might be considered a Caesar salad. I am looking for a standard Caesar salad. That is what I got. I was happy. The beef bruschetta was something more original and creative. It came with a lingonberry sauce that was quite good. The roast beef was tender and actually had been seasoned a little bit, which is a little unusual in Yakutsk. The bruschetta was very hard and tough to cut. My cucumber lemonade had cucumber seeds that plugged the straw - they have a wider diameter straw available, so why do they put the thinnest straw in a drink with seeds that can't get past the bendy part? It was my first experience with a cucumber lemonade, so I have nothing for comparison, but I would have thought more cucumber flavor would have been there. I don't think they used a lot of cucumber in making the drink.

I was staying several nights in Yakutsk and decided to try a different restaurant after a very positive experience at the lovely Khachapure the previous evening. Kare proved to be a very different place and an altogether unpleasant experience. The restaurant was probably around half full when I arrived and they were somewhat reluctantly showed me to a table. A Russian language menu with no English and no pictures arrived some time later. When the waitress stopped by to take my order I tried to ask if there was an English language menu or if anyone on staff spoke a little English. With that she turned her back and walked away and didn't come back. Initially I assumed that she was going to fetch someone else or even that she was asking what to do with this foreigner but then noticed that she was taking orders from other tables including some that had arrived after me. I kept trying to get her or one of the other staff to come to my table but they studiously ignored me even turning their backs after catching my eye. It was really awful and after around 15 minutes of sitting unattended and unable to engage anyone I left and went back to Khachapuri where the staff were cheerful and helpful and the food was once again delicious. Foreign visitors to Yakutsk are warned NOT to waste their time trying to get service at Kare restaurant.

We stopped here for a light lunch after visiting the kingdom of permafrost. Nice place with lovely decorations, okay food, the fish soup was a bit weird, the rest was good. Friendly staff.
