My husband and I visited Grigio last sunday and our overall opinions diverged a little bit, therefore this is a difficult review. Let's start with the location: Aprath is an uptown neighbourhood, a bit off the beaten track. The area is lovely and green, and the bier-garden area looked appealing, although it was a bit too cold to sit outside. The interior is spotless and the deco is very classy, despite this the service is relaxed. We order a vitello tonnato and a focaccia with cherry tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella as starters, Ravioloni 'Nero' with salmon and a salami and peppers pizza as mains, with some house wine (a primitivo). Verdict: Vitello tonnato: nice meat, but the thinnest sauce ever, could hardly taste the tuna. Focaccia: lovely (8.50 Euro!!!). Ravioli: definitely home made, generous salmon filling, but again the sauce is a bit of a let down (price: 13.50 Euro!!!), pizza: fantastic base: you can tell they make the best of the wood fired oven, authentic italian salami, but, once again, the tomato sauce is bland, and no trace of the promised chilli kick (price: 11.50 Euro!!!). Dessert, one shared tiramisù, is top class (price: 6,50 Euro). Grand total: 71 Euros for 2 persons. What if we had ordered meat? OTT. Sorry, for this price, you have to get everything right. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, but we won't cross town too often for this, and stick to more down-to-earth neighbourhoods.

Been coming here for many years and it never disappoints. I've had everything here...breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and desserts. I have never left without feeling like it was a great experience. My most recent visit was for breakfast and the scrambled eggs were the best I have ever eaten. Don't know how they made them, but they were delicious. I also can highly recommend any of their lovely baked goods, as they are all top and make for a lovely treat after a nice meal. Enjoyable atmosphere, friendly staff, and interesting meal options with great flavor make this place my go-to restaurant in Wuppertal.

We had been planning a visit to this restaurant for a while, and what can I say... we should have come earlier! We arrived without booking (which I wouldn't recommend because the place is quite small, although if the weather is warm enough they have a lovely back garden and can also set some tables in LouisenstraÃe). We were lucky and we got a table. There was a large group, which seemed to have a very good time, and 2 additional parties of 4. The service was friendly, smooth, and extremely fast. The deco was modern but colourful and cosy. The food was amazing. We had a lovely present from the kitchen, a thai green curry soup with mango, delicate and spicy at the same time. As starters we had the scallops with pork belly and a veal dish which somewhat resembled vitello tonnato, but the sauce was a vey fine sauce tartare with a hint of horseradish.Great. The scallops were also cooked to perfection. I then had mushroom risotto: the flavours were amazing, and there was a light parmesan mousse to blend it, the rice was a tiny bit too al dente for me, but I know that views differ on this point. My husband had the steak (probably cooked at 79°C?), which he loved, and this came further accompanied by some melt-in-the-mouth braised beef. We couldn't resist sharing a dessert, a peach melba with 79° twist: a lovely custard and delicious berry mousse. With wine, beer, and water, this fantastic dinner came out at 95 Euros. Worth every penny! We will definitely be back!

This perhaps the most sophisticated restaurant in Wuppertal, quite different from the "pub style" or traditional ambiance that many other places have. No bratwurst here. After 3 visits I can say high quality is consistent. Limited but varied choices on the menu, with varying daily dishes. Best and freshest ingredients.Ample parking round the back, walking distance from Schwebebahn stops.

Great ambience, beautifully renovated. We were served by a young lady Who did a great job. Instead of a starter for everybody, we ordered two plates, anti pasti to share among 7. Really delicious, typical Italian, aubergine, zucchini, mushrooms, prawns in milk aoli, olives ect.The pasta dishes were very good( large portions) and the dorade perfectly prepared. Unfortunately no room for desert. A great dry white wine, served well chilled. A most enjoyable evening, very friendly staff.

Very friendly local Italian restaurant. Has a varied menu of Pasta and Pizza dishes. We had been on a long bus tour in unseasonably warm weather. While we would have preferred dining al fresco, unfortunately the rest of the crowd had the same idea. I had a Pasta dish featuring linguine type noodles in a ragout. My better half opted for a Pizza. both were excellent. Service was a bit slow, but it was NOT due to the wait staff who was constantly hustling. Adding additional staff is not feasible in this small venue. I suggest that you just slow down, perhaps have an appertizer or a glass of wine and enjoy life in Wuppertal

Favoured by our local friends. We sat outside and enjoyed the mixed starters (meze) followed by large tasty mains. Good value.
