Located at 8° 30′ E, 50° 34′ N, Wetzlar straddles the river Lahn and is on the German Timber-Frame Road which passes mile upon mile of half-timbered houses. Historically, the city has acted as the hub of the Lahn-Dill-Kreis on the north edge of the Taunus. The city is known for its ancient town and its medieval cathedral.

Auch in der grössten Hektik, Laden komplett gefüllt, keinerlei Stress beim Personal zu erkennen. Speisen sehr lecker und günstig. War wieder ein rundum gelungener Besuch im Lokal.

We were wandering around Wetzlar and settled on Goldenes Ross for lunch, being attracted to it's historical building. We found out the set promotion lunch so ordered 4 sets.....Schnitzel, white Asparagus (Spargel) etc.The food was surprisingly good, and price is more than reasonable. I especially like the Spargel and Krombacher beer. And perfect weather completes the wonderful lunch experience!

Wir haben im Levanda bzw. dem Hotel Blankenfeld schon viele Familienfeiern ausgerichtet. Die zubereiteten Speisen sind immer perfekt, insbesondere die Steaks und Filets, wobei ich auch regelmäÃig das Bosnische Schnitzel auswähle. Auch die seit kurzem angebotene Mittagskarte bietet eine interessante Auswahl an Essen für die kurze Mittagspause. Im Sommer hat man auf der groÃen Terrasse einen wunderschönen ruhigen Ort zum Essen im Grünen, den man so gemütlich selten in Wetzlar findet.

I ate at the restaurant only once.The steak was well cooked and juicy.A little too much salt in the side dish, the pepper sauce was ok.The ambient is without a character but the food seems to be on a good level. Average price as well.I will come back for another taste.

We were visiting Wetzlar as my wife was working in Marburg and needed some lunch. I had hoped that we could eat at the Fest on Kornmarkt but had a contingency. And that was La Piazza, who were doing the Kornmarkt catering anyway. I read the reviews and the only negatives seemed to come from groups.Firstly, the interior is VERY tasteful. Modern Italian with a touch of country déco but most pleasant. The food too was superb - my wife's country pasta was scrumptious and there were no problems about getting spaghetti with butter and Parmesan for my son. My pizza base looked a little mass produced but had actually clearly been freshly-made. There was also an excellent choice of wines.The waitress (my guess was the boss) did seem a *little* off-hand but we still got everything we wanted and with no problems (my guess is that the fair outside might have been a stress factor).Would I go here again or recommend it? ...right at entrance of city center and being hosted in an old, but completely rebuilt Fachwerkhaus (old German style housing) where a tower is connected with a wooden bridge to main building. We have been sitting at this bridge with lovely weather, really a pleasure. Pleasure was as well our food, whereas service was average. Given price level and food quality, not to mention the great seating, we would definitely go back to this place in case we are in Wetzlar again!

I took guests for dinner in July 2016.The staff were most accommodating of our request for a table facing the river, anbd the food and service were excellent. One has to keep in mind that there are different expectations of staff on the different sides of the Atlantic. There is a great selection fo food here, and the best if to be fond amongst the venison, which I highly recommend. Will definitely go agaiin!

The restaurant has a superb location, overlooking the cathedral square. Service was excellent, friendly and quick - which can not always be taken for granted in a tourist spot.The price was reasonable.

Sometimes you manage to find a restaurant or a hotel where the personnell exceeds all your expectations, and just without even trying to do so. Bootshaus is such a place. The fact that the owner is not a German might have something to do with it... There was a huge group of us, over twenty in total, mostly teenagers with everyone having a different dish every evening (we ate there several evenings in a row), paying it separately and not once did their smile fade. They really did all possible to make us feel as welcome as possible. Well, the food there was really good too - and that might also be because the owner was not German... Excellent fish, good pizza and nice variety of pasta that even a vegetarian had several opportunities to choose. So, should you ever happen to spend a day in Wetzlar, do not miss this place!
