A stylish venue in the heart of largs. A great alternative space for wedding parties and events. Why not stop by and try our great food, our huge range of cocktails or relax on our outdoor terrace. We have a selection of award-winning menus and great spec
We called into the Lounge for lunch prior to seeing friends off after they had enjoyed a lovely weekend in Largs. We were certainly not disappointed by the Sunday Lunch. The entire group enjoyed their choices very much. THe roast beef and yorkshire pudding was simply the best I had tasted for a very long time. The beef was extremely tender and very tasty. The service was very good and the whole place took us back to a bygone era. We will definitely return to The Lounge.

Had a really great family meal, it was 2.50 Tuesday (2 pounds 50p sterling) so we ordered quite a varied selection. All really good. Would return on a full price day for sure. (My family live locally and they go often, this was their first 2.50 Tuesday in fact.) Small place, so booking recommended, nice wine list. Friendly, swift service.

After a great breakfast 2 years ago, our high expectations were not met on Sunday. Friendly greeting gave way to disjointed service, where our waitress should have received some help from her colleagues. Staggering delivery of courses proved to be far from ideal.Chef placed too much reliance on sauces to rescue tired haggis, potato scone and black pudding on our starters. Although the garlic one tasted nice, it contained far too much cream for a toddler. Steaming his mussels would have sufficed. Although the chicken and salmon mains were fine, both pasta dishes looked very stodgy, and the roast beef was not worth the £5 supplement. While one dish had the correct portion size, mine was miniscule. One roast potato, a stem of broccoli, thin jus and one untrimmed slice was not what I had in mind. Even though I was hungry and ate it, disappointment does not quite cover it. Was the dish actually checked after plating? Finally, while my son's fruit skewers were good, yoghurt would have been better than the chocolate pot provided. In line with earlier courses, the dessert selection was equally uninspired, and was almost based entirely upon ice cream topped with sauces or cream. Even the unfinished mini eton mess looked and tasted like an inferior version of Angel Delight. In short, nice surroundings, prime location and presentation only take Scotts so far. Inconsistent execution, uninspired offerings, ambitious pricing and average service all mean that we would look elsewhere next time. Sorry!

Me, my partner and kids came in on the Friday after a day at the beach. We thankfully got a table without a reservation. The restaurant is modestly designed, reasonably good variety of food and drinks at hand. Staff were friendly, polite and professional to their guests. The restaurant was had a nice catch to the eye on the inside. It was very clean, along with the toilets. Our main server was a girl with red hair (I'm sorry I didnt catch her name). She was great, friendly, and very attentive to not just us, but the other guests around her - all with a smile on her face! A compliment for the chefs also. As I really enjoyed my 'Hellboy Burger', and my partner enjoyed her 'Steak Pie and mash'.I just wish I wasnt all the way up in Glasgow, otherwise I would be here most of the time. But, we will be back once we pop back down to Saltcoats again.Thank you for your service, it was a priviledge and a pleasure.Hello and thanks for you kind words we are glad you all enjoyed your visit. We are looking forward to your next visit to sunny Saltcoats so we can look after you again.Hope to see you soon !Thanks Oscars

Popped in to this frequent haunt yesterday for a family lunch. Food was plentiful, hot and tasty, as usual (including my favourite- dry roll with veggie sausages ). Always a warm , friendly welcome from the lovely, attentive staff . The great views of Arran were obliterated yesterday by our beautiful Scottish âsummerâ weather of torrential downpour and a thunder & lightening storm âï¸â¡ï¸, which lit up the restaurant..........this free show drew great gasps & âoohsâ & âaahsâ from our fellow diners. Priceless. Thanks, as always Rowan Tree, see you again soon.

Braidwoods is in the North Ayrshire countryside, open for over 20 years with the same owner and has a Michelin star.We remember eating there twenty years ago. We were impressed then and the standard of service, friendliness and the quality of the food were wxcellent this time as well.A lot of the items on the menu were sourced locally. and produced with lovely sauces and additions. The wine list had interesting and less well known wines along with a good range of French and World classics. We had a lovely evening in a relaxed atmosphere with great food and wine.

Went for dinner at The Waterside and was overall satisfied with our meal. For starters, the view is just beautiful, which really added to the experience. The food was delicious and very well presented. Most of the staff were great and attentive. However, once we were done with our meals, it took staff at least 20 mins to come over and clear the table, small criticism but as the restaurant was quiet I expected the service to be a little quicker.

Booked a table for 12 people based upon TripAdvisor reviews and the comprehensive menu on their website. When we got there they only offered us a 2 or 3 course menu not the a la carte menu on the website. We were told that the main menu was only available at weekends but this isnât mentioned on the website. There was no real attempt to appease us and the service was slow. Some of our party enjoyed the food others found it very average. Really disappointed Hi there,Firstly, thanks very much for taking the time to give us this valuable feedback. The A la Carte Menu is indeed only available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday's. As a result of your comments, I have made this more visible on both the website and upon entry to the hotel. The Grill items and full House Menu are available 7 days a week, holding the better part of 20 main courses, but I can understand your disappointment if there was something specific you had in mind prior to your arrival.I am sorry that you did not have the experience you or I expected, and I can only hope that you give us another chance to show you how good we are.
