Great location, great service and excellent food. The seafood crepe was a masterpiece and the fish and chips were among the best we've ever had. Lovely restaurant, full of character, and the staff are wonderful. The menu prices are mid-range, we spent 100 Euros on dinner and drinks for four.

In the heart of Waterford City is a restaurant that champions the local food experience. Vaguely Spanish in decor with a funky eclectic mix of food and ambiance that may well be described as Mediterranean. Most definitely, not a conventional Irish restaur
Bodega was my choice for a catch up with some really close friends on Friday last. As usual- the welcome was warm and relaxed despite the fact that we arrived a little late and with an extra friend! Nothing was a problem. Food was excellent for every one of us and the pace of the evening perfect. We had faultless service and despite chatting away until well after midnight - never once felt under pressure to leave. I would highly recommend.

Tapas Bar located in the Viking Triangle at the Heart of Waterford. Serving the community for five years. Our dedicated team will look after you from start to finish and our focus on fresh local produce shines through.
Have always loved the Olive Tree...fab staff and ambience...lovely new additions to menu but some plates. 9 , 10 euro...that's not far off a main plate of food rather than a tapas portion...yes I note all the extra costs to be borne this year...but I also note that footfall is majorly down in our cities restaurants...so although we had a gorgeous evening...I felt...I wish it was more affordable...I would eat here every week ! My suggestion...copy the Spanish and do more traditional and cheaper tapas...like stew style dishes made in a big batch and which improve in flavour all day...baked cheese with a glass of sherry...provide a bread basket for all tables...I don't want this to be a negative review...I want you to stay and business and I would like to eat here more often...would a more affordable menu fill your seats every day...not just weekends ? Love the Olive Tree !Thank you for the review. We understand your feelings and we didn't take the menu changes lightly I'm glad you enjoy the new dishes. We did change to that style you are talking about some 4 years ago but feedback was not good and had to change back to fuller dishes as this is what the market wants. We do offer a value menu all evening Tuesdays and Wednesday's to attract people out mid week that gives 3 tapas for â¬18 50 . This menu is also served until 6.30pm every other day also.Unfortunately we have uncontrollable costs handed to us that cannot be absorbed by the prices you are talking about on the old menu along with general food cost increases and a nationwide downturn in the tourist trade. This makes for a survival of the fittest situation at the moment and unfortunately I fear you will see a number of well loved places close over the next 12 months because of viability versus cost and pricing. We have to try and stay competitive of course and offer value where we can along with great friendly service that's a given at the olive tree.I hope to see you again soon and maybe we can talk further next time time your with us.ThanksEddie

We went here for a family meal together. We ate from the early bird menu, the market menu and the a la carte menu. Food was sublime and the fish dish in the early bird menu every bit as good as the lobster dish from the a la carte menu. Lobster was perfectly cooked and the sauce so good a really superb dish and a compliment to the chef that the fish of the day from the early bird menu was equally good which speaks volumes for kitchen especially when the owner chef was not in the kitchen that night. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their starters and mains and dessert was every bit as good as the mains. Service was excellent and advice on wines honest and very helpful. A fantastic family meal from a superb restaurant that didn't break the bank. We'll be back.

On a recent golf weekend with Shannon Town Golf Society, this restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel. As there were 13 of us we were surprised at the friendly service and welcome we received. The food was first class and the staff went out of there way to cater for all of our requests for variations on the menu. Each and everyone of our group left the restaurant singing it's praises.Would certainly return.

Stumbled upon this place while looking for a place to eat on vacation. To be honest our initial thought was....we'll go in and if it looks alright we'll eat and if not...maybe a quick beer and carry on. The first surprise was the immediate delicious smell when we opened the door. It smelled like walking in to moms kitchen on a Sunday. This made decision to stay very simple and it was obvious we were ordering the Chefs Roast Beef. It did not disappoint, it was delicious and soooooo much food! In addition to the food, the young man behind the bar was so friendly we spent a few hours just sitting and enjoying a few drinks and chatting with him when he was not busy serving the rest of the bar all by himself. Highly recommend this place for both food and drinks.

We went here a special birthday treat for a friend. Service as always friendly and their mushroom risotto with truffle oil was as good as ever. We had veal T bone steaks and I must say they were a generous size, succulent and tender. The fish dishes were really very good. This is a great restaurant that makes you feel you are in Italy and treated as if you are. Highly recommended.
