We ate two times here during our trip. The first time we had an a la carte platter. My husband took the steak tartare and I took the duck. Both dishes were very good. The duck just fell of the bone, so it was very good prepared.The secong time we took the three course menu. We started with a piece of trout enrobed in seavegtables with a horseradish sauce. Then we had a chicken rolade filled with crayfish and a crayfish sauce, with some young potatoes and vegtables. As dessert we had a mascarpone cream with basil and fruit. I've been here a few times. If you take the weekend formula with dinner included you get good value for the money. It's not cheap, you still a pay a decent amount of money. But for me it's worth while. Top of the line service: very friendly, multi lingual and very helpful. Very good infrastructure to relax and enjoy: swimmingpool, spa, etc...Very close to nice hiking trails, lake and other historical sites nearby. Then the food,....my God. Don't know a lot of hotels which have such a nice kitchen.Michelin star quality food/service. All together my "place to visit" if you want to have a relaxing gastronomic weekend.TIP: ask for a room in main building. Just easier to go to swimming pool and dinner. They also have another few rooms in different building very close to hotel, but a bit cumbersome for spa visit.

We've visited this lovely place a couple of times now. We like to stay here and hike in the surrounding hills. The great value of the house is the excellent food. Food is typically surprising in flavors and well balanced in the dishes served. You have no choice, but the menu of the evening. So you only have to lean back and enjoy. The wine on offer is very reasonably priced and excellent value for money. Let Peter recommend one and enjoy. Setting is very friendly and welcoming. Do make a reservation as this place is very popular.

What a nice and modern brasserie, a bit like a chalet-de-Savoie. The rotisserie was not on the night we visited. No problem the chacuterie we had as starter was very nice. Ad were the confit de canard and the truite en papilotte! With a very nice vin de savoie.Good price-qualty ratio.

Nice interior, friendly staff that even made an effort to speak Flemish. Our whole group decided to go for the suggestion menu ( 4 course) which was reasonably priced. The food as well as the chosen wine was of excellent quality. However waiting times were too long....started at 7Pm we ended our dinner close to 11Pm.

Came here with a colleague/friend who lives nearby and really enjoyed it. Great aperitifs with plenty of local Belgian beers, great food menu in both restaurant and brasserie. Good service (French, German and English speaking). Had pasta and my friend had a great looking steak. Ambience was good with decent music and a bar that probably gets lively nearer the weekend. All in all pretty good albeit not that cheap.Merci pour cet avis

At the arrival a great parking facility was on hand, the greeting at the door was welcoming like visiting a friend. The décor and atmosphere are well though out. The food was outstanding, well presented and our fondue was an around the world experience, lobster from Canada, Emu and other delicacies, the chocolate mousse was a hit. All in all it was a fantastic experience and we certainly do not hesitate to recommend this great establishment. Wonderful job and thank you to all the staff and management.

Great food presented in the beautifully converted former forge. Marsha the proprietress is a delightfully welcoming and unstuffy hostess who makes you feel at home and helps translate the menu, and her partner Thomas is a talented chef. We went for the 4 course tasting menu. 3 tasty little amuses-bouches were followed by high quality dishes - a lovely plaice fillet served with fennel in orange and a mini seafood "soup", a fabulous asparagus dish built on a bed of beurre noisette, pigeon breast and leg in a lovely gin-based sauce, and to finish a delightful chocolate and coffee melange with lovage flavoured brittle. With aperitifs, wine, coffee and a rum (for myself) the bill came to â¬150, which is good value for such high quality food. If in this area do pay La Menuiserie a visit!!

The service is ok, because you can order in English, which is a rare thing in Belgium. We would have liked to have the menu also in English, but it didn't happen. The carrot soup is definitely the best choice, the other foods will not catch your attention.
