Great daytime restaurant and an awesome nighttime bar/pub. Should be in the nightlife section. Special menu
I have enjoyed many nights in this bar run by a cool cat named Jai Dee. Music is good and one will likely meet some interesting people there. It also tends to stay open an hour or more longer than Sakura or Gary's.
Adjacent to the Main bridge across the Nam Song. The restaurant is part of our guesthouse set in a tranquil garden . All meals are cooked to order with the chefs speciality being Red, Green or Yellow curry. There is also an all day breakfast menu.
We stayed at the bungalows here and ate at the restaurant several times- mainly breakfast. Small and family run, food is cooked to order. Particularly enjoyed oatmeal porridge with banana, Lao coffee. Filled croissants for lunch and eggs and toast also done well. Situated over the toll bridge at the beginning of the loop road to blue lagoons.
Sala Pha Deng is the lovely riverside restaurant at the Elephant Crossing Hotel. It is set on the river's edge of the Nam Song River, with wooden tables, both of the picnic-style variety and the cocktail variety, depending on where you sit. The view is great, as the river is backdropped against the mountains, with villagers walking their water buffalo, and riding motorbikes over the wooden bridges crossing the river. An occasional drunk tuber might float by, or kids might be fishing in the river. Very nice to sit out here and enjoy the view (make sure to wear long sleeves and pants at happy hour times 5-7PM because there are a lot of mosquitoes). They provide candlelight after dark which is nice too.The service staff is all very young kids, who spend more time talking with their friends, looking out at the view, or slowly meandering through the property than attending to the guests. Most of the time they are nowhere to be found at all. The dishes are cooked one at a time, and you will need about 2 hours to eat a full meal, as each dish takes about 30 minutes to come out. The bell is rung, and your food sits there for ten to fifteen minutes, as the service staff continues to chat with their friends or the other staff members in the back room before getting around to bringing you your food. Half the time, the bar is unattended, and most of the time no staff members are anywhere to be found in order to receive service. When they do show up, they have limited English, but that is not a problem, it's enough to communicate - and they do smile and are friendly enough. Just have lots of patience, and don't be in a hurry. The food is hit and miss - we had a BBQ beef dish that was fresh and tasty one day, and a chicken dish that was also good. The next day, our vegetables were terribly overcooked, and the beef in a stew was so overcooked you couldn't even chew it, but a BBQ fish was tasty. Don't go here for breakfast - most hotel guests came out, took one look at the breakfast, and then walked into town to eat. They were the smart ones. It's only a dollar or two for breakfast anywhere in town, and this buffet isn't worth your calories, even for free. It is a nice ambience though, so if you're not hungry, you can enjoy a very nice morning view with a cup of tea (watch out for the coffee though).

Friendly Lao Family Restaurant, serving freshly cooked food with cold drinks. Attached to Family Ticket and Tour Business. Anou and Noi will look after you.
I stopped by to book some bus tickets at Anou's travel desk. He is very friendly and speaks good English. I was hungry, so I accepted his offer of food and a cold Beer Lao at his small cafe. It was delicious. It is opposite AMD, which is deservedly highly rated on TA. Give them both a try!

Most Popular International food in Vang Vieng, Vientiane Province, Laos
Newly established, family run restaurant in Vang Vieng close to the river and the heart of town. We serve fresh, homemade fresh pasta and Western food along with imported cheese, ham, cold beer, wine and more.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Hot coffee was served lukewarm, which seems to be a frequent occurrence in Laos. The duck salad did not have all the ingredients listed on the menu. I also had a pasta with marinara sauce, really small portion considering I ordered the large size.

OASIS Restaurant is the best place to sit back, relax and enjoy our breath taking view of mountains. let us tantalize your tastebuds with our traditional Laotian cuisine experience, which is relies heavily on Lao traditional herb and wild forest greens. a
We went to Oasis Restaurant twice during our time in Vang Vieng, the first being that it was literally right next door to our hotel and was convenient and the second resulting from having a good time the first time. We ordered curry and a traditional lao soup. The owner was so kind as to recommend this soup and even explained how to eat the bamboo (?) or tree bits within it. Food was super yummy and the owner was very friendly and chatted with us about our travels :) The view from the upper floor of Oasis was really great during the day because you can get a good view of the mountains in the distance. Would recommend this place! This is mean a lot for our business. Thank you so much for your supportive. On behalf of Oasis team, we wish you a pleasant holiday. Most Welcome back anytime.

Four of my friends and I visited after reading amazing reviews for this place. Some good things: the pasta sauce was quite delicious for the penne arrabiata, large wine glass portions, and the pizza crust was tasty (but burnt in some spots - like actually tasted charred)Some bad things: - very small portion size for the pasta - people spoke of handmade pasta and this didnât seem to be the case - pretty hot inside, no AC - my friend ordered a veggie pizza, with the vegetables listed on the menu. She ended up getting a pizza with carrots and an insane amount of cabbage on it as well (unlisted) - she was sad as she probably would have just ordered a margarita instead - prices do not match the menu: the wall as well as my menu said a glass of wine was 18000. Someone else at the table had a menu that said a glass was 20,000. I went ahead and ordered thinking the 20,000 was an aberration since the WALL and my menu said 18000. Upon getting the bill it said 20,000 which I politely inquired about at the front. The man serving us completely ignored me at first, texting until I said excuse me. He then proceeded to tell me the walls are wrong and I must be wrong about the menu saying 18,000 (there is no way 3 of us hallucinated 18,000 wine). I understand that 2000 is a very small amount, however it is the treatment and the principle of changing signs to be UP TO DATE and changing ALL MENU PRICES to ensure consistency. Also donât text and ignore patrons. All in all for the price premium, it isnât worth it at all. We have experienced more kindness at local family run restaurants for a tiny tiny fraction of the price.
