OPENNING SOON ! THE JUNE 5, 2018 Auberge restaurant, consisting of 7 rooms and a dining room with panoramic views of the Tinée Valley. Local cuisine, modern and refined.
We stayed three nights at the hotel and after the first night we decided to eat in the restaurant every evening. Admittedly this was partly to avoid driving at night to another village however the food at Le Robur was enough in itself to tempt us to return again and again. The menu is seasonal and gastronomic. At this time of year, in winter, its limited, and chef Christophe was determined to impress us every evening with a new experience. On the third night he created a customized menu just for us. The food, the service and the setting were all sensational. We especially loved the concept of gastronomic dining without the pretensions. No white tablecloths and no high heels needed.

Le Chalet Suisse Valberg recently changed concept and has been refurbished in a modern and cosy way, we are happy to welcome our guest in this new atmosphere for a taste of a traditionnal Swiss cuisine as well as some local dishes. We are also waiting for
After a nice apero with friendly waiters we decided to have diner in the Chalet Suisse! What a catastroph! My husband never ate so bad in France..... The entrecote was not at all a entrecote - it was thin and hard! The vedgetable came just out of the water, without spices, salt or pepper. The noodles tasted like nothing! We couldn't believe that a hotelkitchen can cook like this! At the end we were offered the meal - thanks for this! But: look for annother cook!
Restaurant with view at the mountains, warm family atmosphere With a simple but tasty kitchen based an fresh ingredients
Une super viande bovine hachée et bien saignante pour se rassasier à midi et sustenter les petites papilles des petits et des grands avant de repartir sur les pistes (ou pas). Après l'effort(du matin), le réconfort en tout cas !

Smashing place with a charming, efficient staff. I had a lovely stuffed pastry starter, beautiful lamb and a lovely panne cotta, just splendid and at a good price. Guillaumes has a nice feel to it and the drive through the gorge is splendid if a little hair raising. People do drive so fast in rural France!

The steaks here are enormous but not only that they are also very very good. The are grilled over wood and taste fantastic. The service is great and very friendly even if you don't speak French.

We booked dinner for two and were surprised by the friendliness of the owner and the staff. The set menu was very reasonably priced and the portions were very generous (appetisers are well... unlimited!). The wine list was short but had excellent choices (we loved the red Mercurey). The desserts were outstanding.

Having been Valberg on several occasions in the past few years, we visited Le Refuge for a raclette or tartiflette and loved it. This time though it seems management changed and whilst the staff was very nice, we felt the food was not as good as it used to be. The tartiflette was mostly cream and potatoes with very little cheese.

This is a good lunchtime restaurant with a good menu at reasonable prices. The service was friendly and efficient and the food well prepared and plentiful. They served quite a large family group including young children with patience and understanding. Recommend.

I can see why this restaurant gets good reviews. To sum up: good food, good value and a good atmosphere.Having spent the afternoon wandering around this resort sussing out the restaurants, I'd chosen this place for the evening for its melanzane parmigiana followed by pizza, my choice among many possibilities. I went here at around 6 in the evening on a Sunday at the end of January (very much off-season) thinking I would book for later. However, there were no lights on and there was no reply to the telephone number given on the board outside for reservations â I thought maybe they were closed ...Luck had me in the same area around 18h50 and hooray! there were lights ... "Come back in 15 minutes ..." they said, "we'll be open". When I got back the place was already filling up rapidly (there are only 30 or so places inside). Happily they'd kept a table for me.Having already made my food choice, the wine choice was easy: a simple wine list, especially if you ignore the French wines (itâs an Italian restaurant!) which boiled down to a reasonably-priced Sicilian Nero d'Avola (11â¬50, if I remember correctly), or slightly over-priced Valpollicella or Chianti. Not a difficult choice. My starter was excellent, the pizza also: copieux the French would call it. But on top of that there was an extremely good ambiance created by the chef (Italian) who wandered round the room chatting up the ladies and kiddies, but also while cooking pasta over and in a regato cheese husk. All in all, an excellent, entertaining evening meal and very good value.

The hosts is this small restaurant in Valberg were very friendly and accommodating. We opted for a menu option for cooking at the table. All in ingredients were of their nest quality and the restaurant was obviously a favourite withthelocalsdespotethelow season.Highly recommended.
