We have gone to this restaurant, which is located outside town, for julbordthe last two years. The first year the restaurant was not so crowded, butlast year it was packed. Apparently, the word has spread that they servethe best (homemade) julbord in town. It's a cosy place in a nice location and I would imagine that it's anice place to eat at any time. Nice staff providing good service.

Rex Brasserie opened its door 1996 and has since become a dear institution in Umeå. With the soul of France and the heart of the North, we cook food according to seasons and take care of the raw ingrediens each season has to offer. With a focus on local w
A family dinner. Well, for myself everything was very nice. 4-course surprise sharing meny was tasty and same time innovative and traditional. Some of party didn't like all ingredients but that's life. I did enjoy all. Kids meny is a bit limited. They get all portions at half price but would be good to have something easy going kids food too. The restaurant was pretty full but in relation to that service timing was ok. This isn't quick food restaurant so the service is accordingly (not slow but..). The best: tastes. The second best: the surroundings and service. I recommend this.

We went mid-week at 18:00 and ordered both the vegetarian and the "land and sea" samplers for a total of four people, no alcohol, for a total of 1900 kr. About an hour later the restaurant was packed with people. Obviously a popular place, even mid-week.There appeared to be a nice selection of wines and beer at the bar.The plates for the table were: bread, vasterbotten cheese, salsa puree, olives, potato salad, and potatoes bravas. The two potato dishes were quite good, the others were average. The vegetarian sampler consisted of vegetable kabobs, roasted peppers, a block of feta cheese with pumpkin seeds, and a milk based gazpacho with diced fruit and tomatoes on the side. These were all flavorful in their own way.The "land and sea" was thin slices of cured ham and pepperoni, a dish of shrimp, a dish of mini-chorizo sausages, and a bowl of muscles in a thin butter cream sauce. The cured meat and the muscles were the highlights of this sampler. For dessert there was a small piece of chocolate cake with some ice cream. The food was good, but a little too expensive and our waitress lacked any kind of warmth. We may try the "Burger Monday's" one time, but I don't know if we will go back again for the tapas.

Great meal. Freshly cooked, battered haddock and large chunky fries, with a large side salad and sauces. My husband had sausages and mash and my son a beef curry. All the meals were freshly cooked and delicious. Everyone really loved what they got. A good selection of beers and ciders too. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Juliette is UmeÃ¥âs oasis and cocktailbar for grown ups with a sophisticated atmosphere inspired by the beautiful 1920âs. Juliette the best place to start the evening, why not with a Toast Skagen and a glass of champagne or end with a dessert or a good coc
I dined at the Rex on a business trip and I am very impressed with the level of service, cuisine and environment. Very friendly and nice environment, good service and the food is really tasty. French Brasserie style with all the classics and I really want to come back and recommend you visiting "Rex" if you are at the nice city of Umeå up in the northern part of Sweden.//Mats Samaras, Stockholm, Sweden

At Gotthardâs, you can eat and drink with a conscience. In addition to our vegetable garden at ÃlvÃ¥kern, which we run together with Brandtâs HandelsträdgÃ¥rd, we also have a two-star KRAV certificate. Along with Martin & Servera, we also run the project #s
My wife and I were recommended this restaurant by staff at our rather upmarket hotel in Umeå and we were not the least disappointed. I had a delicious smoked char, but what impressed us above everything else was my wife's dish - fish and chips Swedish style, thus based on perch ("abborre" in Swedish) instead of cod or haddock as typically used in the British home of this dish. Simply brilliant (and why have we never found this genial local adoption anywhere else in Sweden)? Good, prompt and friendly service as well.

Zillers - Brasserie & Bar ... offers authentic food from the Alpine region. Here you can - in a modern atmosphere - enjoy dishes prepared according to traditional recipes. Local produced raw materials and drinks are in focus. Welcome!
If you are looking for a restaurant with good service, good food, nice atmosphere, nice public and adequate prices you should go to Zillers Brasserie. This is the kind of restaurant Umeå needed. It has promising surroundings also for summer use, for daily visits (view openingtimes) if you want to dine or just hang around for a drink at the bar. I am looking forward future visits. Keep on!!!

Welcome!
Hunger och törst (hunger and thirst) is a relatively new restaurant in Umeå. It is situated in the cellar of Aschanska Villan close to the Ume river and within walking distance from the main square. The concept here is rather exclusive fixed dinners, your choice is only between 3 and 5 courses. There is a wine list if you don't want to follow the chef's wine recommendations and every week the menu changes. I have visited the restaurant twice and I rate the restaurant very good, but not excellent. The fact that the restaurant is situated in a cellar is for me a minus. The inner room, in particular, is dark and has only artifical light.

Not without thinking about how the restaurant came to end here, the converted garage offers a welcoming restaurant environment.A kitchen that lives in the present and offers tasty 3 course menus, it's not without making it difficult to choose.Do not know if the kitchen fan has stopped working, but powerful fragrances spread from the open kitchen.Starters, Chanterelle ravioli, despite its slightly thick pasta dough, was a bit of freshness, and very well-"composed".The main course, Halibut was accompanied by maybe an ingredient too much.Ambitious cooks have difficulty keeping the number down. In addition, three French cheeses that I would rather have seen three Swedish cheeses, a somewhat strange marmalade as an accessory.Knowledgeable and witty waitress who takes care of the entire dining room.A tasty and which can be rare, an affordable dinner.
