Had lunch at the Anahita Resort while staying at the Four Seasons @ Anahita. Open restaurant indoors! Had a quick bite, finding the food presented well but not so tasty! Prices where rather on the premium end! Sitting next to the water, view of the Golf course and huge bungalows made up all the differences!

You cannot fault this restaurant in any way. We used it for all our breakfasts and most of our dinners while staying at the anahita resort. Firstly, the decor and ambiance are superb, secondly, without exception, all the staff are wonderful. Thirdly, the food is excellent. Wide choice, including some international cuisines at breakfast. And a different themed buffet every evening, with a very wide choice, though the desserts tended to be repetitive. Weather permitting, ask for an outside table.

The weakest of the three restaurants at Ambre Resort, but it is in some very strong competition with La Plage and Dolce Vita. Fairly run of the mill good quality buffet, if you watch for the new dishes coming out, these will be piping hot. The fresh Indian breads are very good as are the Mauritian curries and freshly cooked fish.We tended to just have breakfast here and probably only had two or three dinners and one lunch during a two week stay.Negatives are the lack of a salad bar, there were some bowls of leaves, but that was about the sum of it. Additionally, the drinks service could be VERY slow at times.The outdoor seating is very pleasant and less of a canteen atmosphere

Lovely is the word. It covers the venue, its layout, atmosphere and views. It applies to the staff and their service and also the food on your plate. You can chose to go there instead of the buffet and carry an allowance towards your final bill when on half board. We ate there four times and the consistency of the restaurant each time was superb. Francois and his team in their immaculate show kitchen do an amazing job offering really tasting mostly European style cuisine with an eastern influence. Try the King Prawn sweet chilli dish, or the Sirloin Steak with creamy mash. Also they do a crab and garlic starter which is another winner. There is a good choice and much flexibility. Meat and fish always cooked to perfection. Mr Barlen after whom the restaurant is named has been at Le Touessrok for a long time (over 25 years) and can sometimes be still seen running the front of house here, always in a very friendly but professional way. His staff are also a credit to his style and the restaurant in general. Its situated just down on the Frangipani beach front adjacent to the spa outside pool. There can sometimes be a slight refreshing breeze there which flows through the restaurant as it is open sided. Barlen`s is not just a restaurant where you can take lunch and dinner but you can eat and drink on high tables around the bar area during the day as well. Wherever you sit there is always a lovely atmosphere and in the evening the low lighting further adds to this. A must visit when staying at this hotel but do book it can get busy.
