Pleasant dinner on the terrace, but sadly a non-diner chain-smoking at the next table was rather off-putting. The food was pretty good but under seasoned; portions were generous to large. Service was charming, but a tad slow. I'd definitely return though as pretty good value all round.

Very good meal and service in a very tranquil setting. Food was very well presented and excellent value. Cheeseboard was very good for the region. The staff are charming and knowledgeable and the wine list has a good selection of local wines of all quality and price. A memorable evening!

We ate dinner while staying overnight at the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed Phillipeâs culinary talents. Service was cheerful and attentive. Wine list is reasonably priced and good variety. My gazpacho and cod were perfectly prepared. My husband enjoyed mini raviolis with escargot, and calf. Superb. Setting is relaxed yet elegant.

One of the joys of visiting France is small restaurants serving extraordinary food. L'Esperence is one of these that surprised and delighted our group of 4. From a beautiful collection of amuse-bouche to open, to appetizers and main courses that ranged from pigeon to foie gras to fish to beef, every course was beautifully presented, perfectly put together, and delicious. With some unfortunate dietary restrictions (dairy and gluten), eating in France can be frustrating when serving and cooking staff promise accommodations but then forget. The chef got everything right, and it was our best meal of the month we had in France. Highly recommended.

a gourmet restaurant in one of the most beautiful villages in France. Local and seasonal products prepared in an original way. Organic wine list. Terrace with a panoramic view.
We received a lovely welcome from the owner of this restaurant who spoke excellent English . They offer a three course lunchtime menu with a vegetarian option . All three courses were delightful especially the Parmentier with Duck for the main course . It was not overwhelming for those who donât want heavy lunches . The Panoramic Garden next door is nice to walk around afterwards. Also you can park outside the restaurant.Thank you so much for your comment

First off, restaurant was difficult to find, but this does effect this review. Food had mixed results; cassoulet was missing stated ingredients(no sausage), steak was tough and not edible, food not hot. Service was very spotty. Wine was never poured by wait staff, nor was it offered in tasting.Restaurant is not worthy of anything more than 3 stars, if that.désolé, mais nous ne recevons que pendant les heures d'ouverture, probablement la cause première de votre mécontentement ! Même vos amis étaient gêné par votre comportement ! restez en Floride !

Stopped in this pretty village on the banks of the Dordoyne river and this placed looked inviting. Opposite the church on a corner in the middle of the village. Plenty of tables inside and out. The service was good and friendly. Only had drinks so cannot comment on the food

Canât really add to what has already been said. Visited the restaurant after reading the positive reviews and we were not disappointed.Very good choice of food and great value set in a spectacular location. We are staying 15km away but hope to return, it is well worth the effort. You can pay a lot more in the region for food and ambiance not as good.

I really wanted to like this restaurant as a French colleague at work had recommended it but we were generally disappointed with the meal.1. Even though we had booked in person the welcome was clinical and somewhat brusque.2. The duck starter and main were good and the chocolate pear dessert was very tasty. However the steak was over cooked and the apple crumble pudding was uninspired.3. We felt that a bill in excess of 100 euros was too high given the quality of the food and the general quality of the service. As a result we decided not to return even though we stayed in the area for a week.

Brought my children and grandchildren here for their first time. My husband and I have visited many times and always enjoyed the fine dining both at lunch and dinner in beautiful surroundings and excellent service. We had a lovely afternoon and excellent tapas lunch in the garden until when serving coffee my daughter very politely pointed out the coffee she had been given was not what she had ordered. The attitude/response from the Maitre d and waitress was disgraceful, first there was an argument over a coffee which probably cost 5 euros when the customer had just spent over 500euros for the meal. This is not the sort of experience you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant. If we had of allowed it, it could have competely spoilt a beautiful family gathering. This will probably be our last visit, such a shame.
