The guest house is located directly on the Moselle overlooking the top vineyard "Leiwener Laurentiuslay". In front of the door are bus stop, bike path and pleasure boat landing. Also Mosel leisure facilities with Wassertretbecken and shopping are in the i
We managed to snag a table on the terrace over looking the river. We came to this part of Germany basically for the wines and the restaurant has a wonderful selection of which we sampled many. We chose the 3 course dinner menu and it was delicious and well made. Our first course was Scheiben vom Iberico Onglet in Kapern- Thunfischsauce mit kleinem Salat which is their version of Vitello Tonnato and was thoroughly German and delicious. Main course was Rumpsteak vom Iberico Beef and was beautifully presented and yummy. I generally lean towards Mediterranean cuisines and have little experience with "Bavarian" flavour profiles so even though it was totally out of my wheelhouse is was really good. A nice introduction and change for my palette. The dessert, for me, was the star of the meal. Riesling Sabayon mit frischen Erdbeeren a Sabayon made with Riesling and strawberries. Absolutely divine. Bravo!

This place is new in town. An old building has been renovated with lots of passion at its best, the mix between old a d new is great. Many different little rooms to chose from and even the nenne is not so big, the food is very high standard due to the fantastic cook they have. You will not regret coming here !

Food was not tasty. The sauce was tasteless and could have come from a packet out of the supermarket. The meat was of poor quality. Chips were over-salted. The only good thing was the beautifull oversight of the Mosel river down in the valley. Probably worth visiting for a drink on the terrace outside, but if you're looking for good food you should look further.

restaurant étoilé dans le guide Michelin
Thomas Schanz has held two stars in his family run restaurant since the end of 2015. The two stars are well deserved, and food is top notch. Were it only for the food, I'd give five stars. The tourelle de foie gras, the Atlantic hake, the red label pigeon breast, the lamb from Wales, all were full of flavours and the ingredients of excellent quality. My daughter had an a la carte starter of frog legs which she also liked a lot. My wife and I ordered a cheese course instead of the menu dessert - this was good but not outstanding, and I have had better brie de meaux, crottin and livarot before.Service and the choice of menu and/or a la carte dishes was not flawless. The restaurant called me 4 days before the lunch date and asked whether we (a party of 6) would opt for a la carte or the menu. I called the restaurant the night before the lunch and indicated that we would select a la carte. I was put through to Mr. Schanz personally who indicated that we would have to choose from within the menu, except for our daughter who could choose a la carte. We did not quite grasp why this limitation was imposed, as we would have liked to sample the langoustine starter and turbot main course, both of which were not on the menu; perhaps it was because of Easter Monday, Monday being a day on which the restaurant is normally closed. Service itself was very friendly, but one waiter oddly failed to fill up the water and wine glasses of my wife and my mother, and failed to do so throughout the lunch. My wife found this very odd and in the end almost offensive. The red wine we ordered from the same waiter for the cheese course basically was served after the cheese course, after we reminded another waiter. When my daughter asked the waiter whether ice cream was available fore dessert, he simply said 'yes' and disappeared. The ice cream was later ordered from another waitress. The wine list is strong on German wines, and we had two excellent and fairly priced bottles from the Mosel region...

I agree with previous reviewers. This is a hidden gem. The food is amazing (a lot of seafood), a wonderful terrace out to the Mosel, reasonable prices, and a very elegant atmosphere. I was stunned when the owner of the restaurant asked us, after having seated us, how our children are and if our son had learnt to walk (he was a newborn when we visited the first time) - the previous visit was one year (!) ago and she could still remember our children, their ages and even exactly where we were sitting during our previous visit. Friends had dinner at this restaurant based on our recommendation and were just as satisfied as we were.

This is a great spot in Trittenheim, easy walking distance from most of the accommodations in town. We had the wiener schnitzel with salad and chips. It was the best schnitzel we had in Germany. Reasonable prices too (around â¬12).

We eat here 6 times. The first 5 were absolute top; good service, very nice food, top wines and advice, beautiful hotel and nice breakfast. The 6the time was unbelievable. No service, no hello of the owners, dramatic diner, no one knows anything about the wines. Hotel was still good. Complaining did not help at all, incomprehensible arrogant! ⬠500 for one night is too much to try it again.

Having stayed in the suite room that could easily accommodate four to six people, I was totally impressed by the successful fusion of today's luxury and comfort in all the hotel facilities, while at the same time retaining the authentic historic atmosphere and many elements of a 19th century small town railway station. It absolutely attributed to a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Very well done!I will certainly stay here again when in the area.
