I had the opportunity to have lunch with my family here and it was very pleasant ... definitely a local place, not fancy, but the food was tasty and the environment was pleasant. There is an semi-attached garden store that sells local Tenala cheese ... which I savored the rest of my trip thinking about my ancestors and their deep roots in this place.
Restaurant and Café from 1893 right beside Raseborg Castle in Snappertuna. We serve food, coffe and alot more every day from 1.5 - 31.8 every summer.
The restaurant offers a small but good menu with fish and meat inspired by local tradition. The environment is nice but not overly charming. The staff is that instead and very service oriented. The beer is of different local varieties.
We had the soup of the day, classic meat soup with home made gluten-free bread. Several different gluten-free choices of sweets were available. Excellent place.

You can find us by the market square called RÃ¥dhustorget, in the centre of Ekenäs. At our restaurant you will be served excellent food with refreshing drinks right in the heart of Ekenäs â welcome!
Unfortunately this restaurant wasn't a pleasant surpise. We had to wait our lunch for about an hour. Grilled pork was overcooked. Tomato-onion salad tasted very strange, only vinegar or something like that. Children's food was extremely salty. A huge waste basket in the toilet was full of paper towels. Our waitress was very nice but she didn't warn us that we will have to wait our lunch a very long time.
It is the only place on the Island but the owner does not take that for grantedGreat service, great Salmon soupAnd if you ask the owner will gladly grill you some lunch :-)
Traditional Restaurant by the sea.
This place is easily accessible by boat and there is usually space at the pier. You can get there by car too, but there is a ferry on the way, free-of-charge though. A perfect place for sitting outdoor, having lunch and drinking a beer while looking at people and boats go by. The food is very good and not too fine-dining for people on holiday wearing shorts. One of my favourite summer spots.

Bossanova is a modern steakhouse in Tammisaari, in the town of Raasepori. We serve by far the best steaks in town from our volcanic rock barbecue, not forgetting fresh side-dishes and seafood. Bossanovas kitchen-philosophy is plentiful portions at reasona
My wife and I recently celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary and, as is our custom, wanted to have dinner at a good restaurant. Our summer cabin is located in the Finnish countryside and there are no immediately local options. We searched TripAdvisor for recommended options in Salo, Hanko and Tammisaari -- now actually called Raseborg after a redistricting exercise in Finland a few years ago. Although we found a few good options, we ended up choosing BossaNova in Raseborg on the basis of a recommendation from our niece and after looking through the menu. We were absolutely delighted with the food and the location is beautiful. There was a small hick-up at the beginning of our visit with service, but that was straightened out and the rest of the meal was as good as it gets. Let's start with the location. Unless you live in the area you'll almost certainly need to use either GPS or Google Maps to find your way to the restaurant. It's off the beaten path, so to say, and situated beside a bay that leads into the Baltic Sea. It's easy to find with directions, though, so no need to feel nervous about it. Just look in advance if you don't have onboard GPS. When you arrive you'll find the restaurant is located beside a campground, oddly perhaps. And the restaurant entrance is around the side of the building you'll be facing from the parking lot -- which you must navigate around because the street goes into the campground and makes a loop. What might seem the obvious entrance is actually a kiosk. The entrance you want is around the side of the building and the restaurant faces the bay. The interior is modern and airy with lots of open space and bright with natural light. Inside seating is for about 80, said the waiter. But there is a lovely terrace in two or three parts with seating for about 40, I would guess. As the restaurant is only open during the summer months (closing late September for the winter), this is a wonderful option when it is sunny and warm (as it was for our visit on August 10). The menu is extensive enough to provide plenty of options but not so big as to feel overwhelming. Do begin with appetizers because the chef really knows how to dress a plate. My wife ordered Toast SkÃ¥gen for her starter. I ordered the Beef Tartar. Both dishes were excellent-- rich with flavor and contrasting textures, prepared with deft skill, and served as pretty as a picture. I daresay this was the best beef tartar I've ever eaten. But the Toast SkÃ¥gen was truly special and when we return I plan to have that! For the mains, my wife had Filet Mignon and I had the braised Iberico pork shoulder. Again, both dishes were excellent. The steak was about 8 cm (3 inches) thick, exactly the right size to be well seared and caramelized on the surface but still medium rare inside. The pork was fork tender and also wonderfully caramelized. These mains can be accompanied by a variety of sauces each diner selects individually. We both chose the Bernaise sauce. Very good -- creamy, smooth, luxurious and well balanced. There is a variety of sides to also choose between, from garden salad to house cole slaw to home fried potatoes to roasted root vegetables. I had the slaw and it was good, although that dish needed more vinegar for my tastes. It was a little too one-dimensional. But the stars of each dish were the meats, and they were perfectly prepared. Since we drove there from the cabin we only had one drink each (a wheat beer). But the restaurant has a good selection of wines and also cocktails and beers. Perhaps the most surprising aspect was the price for the entire meal. For two starters and two mains, and remember these dishes were comprised of expensive ingredients, plus the two beers we paid â¬89, tax and service included. In Helsinki a meal of such generous portions and at this quality of preparation and presentation would have cost at least â¬120. If you like good food and enjoy a bistro-type restaurant, you will not be disappointed with BossaNova. Visit before it closes for the season. This restaurant is a keeper!
