Farringtonâs restaurant, as it is known now, opened towards the end of 2018. We strive to use local produce, and support local business as much as we can and offer food to sort all tastes, from sandwiches to Scallops and Seabass to Herefordshire Grass Fed
....with good service and imaginative dishes. For those trenchermen or trencher ladies who tend to judge their meal not necessarily by the skill and inventiveness employed, but more by the quantity of the portion on the plate, they might be a little disappointed!Quality 'local' Wye Valley asparagus (Sprue) and "Gower" (I doubt it) whitebait were nice starters, and the duck breast mains, 'local' again, of course, were tender and cooked just right. Reasonable veg. Bread was decent but portion control was in evidence again. Though a little more was willingly supplied on request.Personally I don't give a damn where things necessarily come from as long as they are of the highest quality and totally fresh. This was overall, a good meal. A robust Gascon red complimented the meal admirably. Coffee was ok and we liked the jelly beans! Grappa was of high quality too.I thought I recognised the maitre'd, Ben, and he confirmed he had developed the very good little restaurant adjacent to Worcester racecourse.....'Ostlers' ....in which we have enjoyed some good food in the past? He is applying the same skills to this new venture. A personal note though.....'Nil desperandum carburundum illegitami' We'll visit the place again if in Monmouth.

Service was with a smile and in really good time ahd the atmosphere is really friendly with a lovely vibe!I wouldn't hesitate to come back to Leonards. Wad definitely worth the 35 minute trip to get there!

No 3 was recommended to us and we were certainly not disappointed. The menu was really interesting, the welcome friendly and absolutely loved the decor. We had cauliflower, lime and chilli fritters with a delicious side salad and other half had a really good beef brisket burger with chips (shared!) and equally tasty salad. We were then really taken with the amazing banana baverois...yum! Only criticism was the onion ring with the burger was very overdone to the extent of being to hard to eat without damaging teeth which was a shame in an otherwise amazing and faultless meal. Would happily return and recommend.

We enjoyed an excellent meal here recently, during Herefordshire art week. The outstanding aspect was the choice of dishes on the menu. The ones we ate were all interesting, imaginative, well presented and very tasty. This, combined with a warm welcome and a cosy atmosphere, made our visit very enjoyable.Thank you for your lovely review and we hope to see you again soon.

We are a family run traditional Italian restaurant in the heart of Monmouth.
Wednesday 16th October 2019. Dinner for 2. We arrived without booking and were surprised to find most tables taken; it's a popular place, and no wonder on the basis of our visit. The atmosphere is warm and friendly as is the service. Decent food too with a feeling that much is home cooked. Reasonable value. All in all a very pleasant night out. Recommended.

First of all, you definitely need to book for a Saturday night, however, it is well worth it for the treat you will receive!Food is very good with good portions and well presented. The menu has a "fish" bias, however there is plenty of other choices. All I heard all evening were people sounding their appreciations of whatever was being put in from of them!Reasonable selection of wine.Well recommended
