Reviews on European food in Swanage, England, United Kingdom. Swanage was a popular seaside resort in Victorian times, and families today continue to enjoy its shallow, calm beach. The recently restored Swanage Pier is a popular spot for fishing. Diving trips and boat tours also depart from here. Don’t miss a trip through the local countryside on the Swanage Steam Railway.

We were recommended this restaurant while eating in another nice restaurant. We were not disappointed. Very nice welcome on arrival. Very nice food and the puddings are amazing. I had soup and a lamb dish and strawberry pavlova my partner had a fish starter and a monkfish dinner..its not cheap but all very nice..somewhere different and was very busy with a nice atmosphere and good service.

Away for a short break, We were delighted that we chose to spend our evening at Tawnyâs. The menu was inspiring and the food very much lived up to its promise. The pea and courgette pakora with spiced yoghurt dressing was outstanding Which I followed with the lamb, which was quite possibly the nicest I have ever tasted...the jus was delicious ... as were the vegetables which were cooked perfectly to retain flavour and bite. Although full to bursting, I would not have had a sweet course, but couldnât resist the blueberry panna cotta which was everything Iâd hope it might be. I am almost 70 yrs and have eaten in the very best places throughout the world, and can honestly say the food that this restaurant was up there amongst the best. Proof being that we booked a table for another night before we leave.

Uncomplicated and simple British garden food, true to the micro seasons and influenced by the coast, with the emphasis squarely on fresh, clean flavours. What can't be grown in theKitchen Garden, or in the extensive vegetable and fruit beds, is sourced lo
The Pig has a loyal following which is not surprising and this location is fantastic. Their dressed-down almost shabby chic approach is refreshing when visiting this lovely property form the moment you enter. We ate in the conservatory, service was slow, to begin with, but the food and outlook were wonderful. We even had a walk through the vegetable garden which was a treat all by itself. Saying that the view was amazing and w having drinks on the lawn before eating was fantastic

The Waterfront Swanage, Sharing Fare and Wine Bar is located right on the beach overlooking the stunning Swanage bay. Enjoy a drink and sharing platter with friends or loved ones. Local produce, fine wines, a selection of gins and organic beer.
6 of us booked a table for 7pm. nearly blown over by the east wind. Tried to understand the platter system, excellent waitress helped. The fish platter was very good with samphire , The meat platter was minute slices of several salamis with undressed green salad. The cheese platter was the best and generous. The dessert platter was good. The ambiance was good service good. You will have to improve the meat platter
