Italian restaurant located in Stranraer's town centre. Houses the largest, self-built wood-fired pizza oven found locally which cooks authentic Italian styled thin based pizzas. Watch your pizzas get cooked from fresh dough (mixed in house that morning) t
Weekend away from the central belt, down in the Rinns/rhins for the first time. Found this place through TA and no regrets. Food was top notch and proper Italian menu not just pasta. Staff were lovely and owner was interesting and friendly even when our young son tore around the restaurant on a post meal sugar rush. Wish this restaurant was more local to me. Hello, and thank you so much for taking the time to give us such a great review. In true Italian style we always believe dining out is a real family occasion so we always welcome children of all ages, sugar rush or not ;)I do hope you visit this beautiful wee corner of Scotland again in the future and would love for you to call in and see us again at Papa Rabs.Thank you again.Take care,Rab

Had delicious family lunch: Daughter had scrambled egg with smoked salmon, which was scrumptious! Have been here many times and food is always of a very high standard. Magda is lovely and cheery and we always get a warm welcome. Highly recommend a visit!

Family run Hotel & Bar, Catering for Romantic Meals for two to Sunday Carvery's and Family Gatherings.
We all really enjoyed our food. Menu had a great selection but staff were more than accommodating when we asked to go off menu. My wife is coeliac but was able to eat with no issues as they staff were understanding and informative. Chips cooked in their own fryer which means she was able to have them which is not always the case. Also when we received bread to nibble on she had her own gluten free bread which he have never had before usually she just gets left out so it was a really nice touch. Would definitely recommend and will return if we are in the area in the future.

Nestled in the West Coast town of Stranraer overlooking the picturesque Loch Ryan where you can watch the ferries going to and from Northern Ireland and Cairnryan Port. Henrys Bay House Restaurant boasts the finest sun terrace for alfresco dining and view
Flexible timing warm welcome great views.... multi generational family visit ... variety of dishes .. good . Particularly light bites mussels ....Distractions were too much potato and good chips with virtually all dishes ; and blatantly too hot soup . Which caused light distress to two of our party , as they had to delay starting their first course!Portions sizes very acceptable.. not too large ..Pleasant wine by the glass . No alcoholic beer and lagers...Shared desserts were pleasing with coffees etc A very pleasant experience with the exception of soup and excess potato. Will return focusing in on light bites

Stopped off in Stranraer en route to Port Patrick for breakfast, we went into Fig and Olive , on TripAdvisor review said they were dog friendly...,sorry no dog policy,,there was one customer in this establishment, another couple with a dog was also refused, four customers turned away, the staff were lovely but explained there is no dog friendly cafeâs in Stranraer , you can sit and eat outside but not inside. The one exception Custom House who were not serving breakfast, but if we waited we could eat there for lunch .Welcome to Scottish hospitality, when will small towns wake up and realise the loss of revenue, more people are traveling with dogs and establishments need to move with the times .
