Comfortable bolt hole in Stafford town centre, friendly staff serving good quality food. Great spot to sit & read a book in the day. Iâve eaten here loads, never been disappointed. Current favourite is the chicken club sandwich, but the burgers are also good.

Long recognised as "The hardest table to get in Stafford", this is the training restaurant at Stafford College. It was formerly known as Earls Restaurant. With the move into the brand new Riverbank Building came larger premises, a new name and incredible
The diners had pre-selected their three course meal choices, which were served by friendly and efficient students. The waiting staff were very smartly turned out in uniforms, and set an example that many commercial establishments could emulate. Each course was delicious, being well-presented and tasty. I look forward to visiting again, and can highly recommend this venue.

Was this evening the chef's day off?Having been greeted without warmth or enthusiasm I had a dreadful pint of Marston's Pedigree - there wasn't much choice. Not a cask ale in sight. My partner's white wine was uninspiring. My starter of 'charcuterie' comprised of a few slices of salami scattered with a few pieces of guerkin. The meat was not particularly French and looked like it had come from the local supermarket. No bread! This had to be paid for as an extra and was served with little wrapped slabs of Anchor butter you might get at a motorway service station. What kind of 'french bistro' doesn't include bread?!My main course chicken was just a dry chicken breast with the merest sprinkling of dried tarragon. No sauce or even seasoning. Nothing. The only vegetables were a few overcooked carrots and green beans as well as the smallest portion of 'daupinoise' potato I have ever seen.My partner had sea bass - small pieces, not particularly fresh and a similar selection of dreary vegetables.Needless to say we didn't stay for dessert or coffee. Having lived in France I was looking forward to my birthday treat at a 'French bistro'. What a disappointment. I honestly cannot remember a worse meal.

We ordered two appitizers, bruschetta, cheese mushrooms and calamari...I have never seen such pathetic looking bruschetta in my life. It had little half cut bud tomatoes with a sliver of cheese, almost invisible. Pesto dribbled on the side of the plate. See photo. NO GARLIC to be seen on the bread. Who puts pesto on bruschetta?? OR WHOLE, HALVED sliced up bed tomatoes??? It looked and tasted like am attempt to be creative, gone dreadfully wrong. IF you could even cut into the stale, stone hard bread!Get with it guys, bruschetta is bruschetta, is bruschetta!! Go to Italy and learn how to make it!The mushroom thing, was slightly better, although it severely lacked salt. It was bland. Same rock hard bread too!The calamari was fine. The bill was £28......Please, this is a middle of the road pasta house!

I booked this only from reference of reviews and pictures online. We travelled over 80 miles, for a surprise meal for my boyfriends 21st birthday. On arrival, we was greeted by lovely friendly staff and seated straight away. The food was amazing, we both had the steak meal on the menu â2 courses for £22â. The steak was cooked to perfection. We both also had desert, myself with the lemon tart and my boyfriend with the chocolate sauce and ice cream waffle. Both again, could not be faulted. To top the night of completely, I had previously messaged them mentioning that it was a surprise meal for my boyfriends 21st, and this did not go unnoticed. They brought out a plate with happy birthday written on, with some chocolates on the side, which I thought was a lovely gesture. I could not fault this place at all, every staff member was lovely and the food was 11/10. Will be returning if we are ever down this way again, Thank you
