We dropped by on the off-chance on Friday evening and were seated inside with window views over the lovely countryside. Dinner, while not inventive or imaginative, was copious, well-presented and of a high quality, with a strong meat bias and good pasta dishes - we much enjoyed our pici al ragu di cinghiale. Table service was attentive and friendly.Easy parking at the end of the short but very bumpy driveway leading to the locanda.Thanks..hope to see you again..our philosophy: quality first.!!..ciao..

The Tuscany/Umbria border is our favourite holiday destination and we have been 4 times in the last 6 years. The first place we go every year for our supermarket shopping in the Penny Market at Farniole near the A1, and our first Tuscan meal is always a takeaway pizza from Menchettis. They do it by the slab, you just say how much you want and they cut it. Never had a bad pizza and probably always ordered too much, but buy is it tasty! It is INSIDE Penny Market, so go in there and it is on your right, enjoy!Thank you so much! We are really glad to hear that from you.We hope you keep coming to Tuscany and keep visiting us in our shops!

I promised to come again when in the region ... so we did . As it was a Friday evening we made a reservation for an early start . The chef is passionated by his profession and and passes this on to the customer . When it is a full house you need some patience but it is worth it . We had the first oil of the season yummy , could not be fresher and tastier . The chef explains in English or Italian what he proposes and it is goooood . We try to go for the plates that are from the region and unknown to us and never disappointed . C U next time Gianluca .

The restaurant is in a beautiful cavern like setting based in a wonderful 12th Century hotel! (The restaurant is not owned or managed by the hotel.) The food is pretentious, mediocre tasting, small portions and overpriced. The service is pretty poor too. They offered no cheese for our pasta. The âsommelierâ brought out a bottle of warm white wine. We all tasted it, said it was fine tasting but warm and he was about to pour it when we all said âchill it before you pour any moreâ. He looked puzzled but went and got an ice bucket. At the end of the meal, we wanted a white or clear grappa. They didnât have one! We were so surprised. A supposed âhigh endâ restaurant in Tuscany had only one or two grappas and none of them clear. Also, I had to ask three times for the bill. I would not go back.

What a lovely dinner we had here! The first time in this restaurant was a beautiful surprise for us. We had no expectations but were pleasantly surprised at the high standard and quality of ingredients served here. Our dinner for four was superb and each one of us enjoyed every single course. The menu was cleverly set out so that certain choices are linked together to provide excellent well-balanced set menu alternatives, or it is possible to design your own choices. We enjoyed the tremendous combination of flavours, fresh and summery for a summer night. Every dish a delight. The wine choices were also excellent. We enjoyed our dinner outside under the stars, in a beautiful garden. We were introduced to the chef who has a passion for the food he serves and it shows. Friendly and accommodating service. We just cannot wait to return!

Wonderful dining experience with lovely, warm and friendly staff. Rabbit mousse appetiser was excellent. Lovely ricotta cake with pear. A bold and bitter pici pasta dish. Excellent homage to mushrooms. Well cooked pigeon with cacao nibs. Diverse and wonderful cheese course. A show-stopping pear and ginger sorbet. Pistachio cannoli with passion fruit sorbet. Excellent wine and vin Santo. Truly great night.
