Meal- We have ordered pumpkin cream soup with spicy goat cheese and pumpkin seed oil, sea trout tartare with quail egg, cucumber salsa and âmelbaâ toasts as a starter, calamari and tiger prawns pan fried in herbs with warm spinach salad and harissa sauce and filet Mignon steak with pearl barley risotto and gravy sauce as a main and unbelievably delicious hand-made dessert - âNapoleonâ cake with pear purée and berry sauce... I would definitely recommend this place, as our meal was fantastic!!!Relaxed atmosphere, quick and very polite service.

We rather stopped by by chance but did not regret it. Food was good (although not all (the burger) was available) and the staff very friendly! Prices are really ok compared to the other tourist locations in Sigulda.

Located in the very centre of Sigulda, self service restaurant "Zalumnieku piestatne" offers wide selection of typical Latvian homemade food. It features pizzeria that serves various Italian dishes.
We took some lunch from the buffet table, which was kind of good, but unfortunately mostly a bit cool. The premises were ok and a lot of locals seemed to like the place. So, nothing that special. Basic, tasty food.

On Sunday night I wanted to have a meal and went to this restaurant, hoping to get a decent meal at level, what presents this place. Unfortunately, it was disappointing.Bread was not fresh with a bit chewy consistency. I understand that it was a Sunday evening and there is no desire to prepare and bake fresh bread a few hours before the restaurant closes, but at least consistency could be saved a bit, if the bread was stored in the kitchen under a damp cloth and kept for a few minutes in a heated oven before serving. At the time of serving, it will be warm, soft and with a crunchy crust.Chanterelle - sweet potato soup was moderate. The taste and flavour of chanterelles, what was very expected to feel in this soup, was suppressed with coconut milk flavour, which was taken over all soup taste. As a main course I ordered deer meat burger ..... I am very sorry, it was disaster. Brioche bread, which was mentioned on the menu, did not look & taste very much as Brioche bread. Either it was not fresh (hard and chewy from a top, dry and crispy from the bottom), either with the baking process and technology of Brioche bread itself, something was gone wrong. The potato frites were completely uneatable, because they were raw in the middle (looked from the outside ready). The only things what were enjoyable in this dish were the deer meat and caramelised onions.Despite the disappointment about food, the service was great - kind and convincing. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy, the location is very good, the potential is huge! I recommend Hotel / restaurant owners to discuss with kitchen team about attitude and maybe motivate them to keep the level of quality till the last minute of restaurant working time. All these small annoying details, can ruin very fast all efforts and energy investments in the place, which have to be in high level. I wish a good luck!Dear Navrix,Thank you for your time to share you experience at our restaurant! We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your evening here. We will definitely talk over your mentioned problems with our staff. Thank you once again for so detailed description and we hope to host you again in the future!

Today I decided eat somewhere in Sigulda. As I was on a bike and outdoor cafes are still closed decided go to Kaku maja. First it was invisible where to put my bike in a safe place and I decided take it with me. Sure it is not the right thing but to keep safe my mtb this idea come first. While I started order my food some older lady from bistro started sceam around whoâs bike it is it should be on the street etc and several times. Is it the service which normal customer should receive? Instead to be polite and friendly ask to take it out she run around and scream. If I would be a manager of this cafe I would fire this lady because she doesnât do honor for this place and business at all. The rest personal stated calm and just watch the scene. I would not recommend to go there if you are with bike. Food is avarage.

integrated in a very nice complex with hotel, club, conference place, etc., this restaurant offers a great variety of dishes, unfortunately we could have only one! the trout was delicious and, although the price is higher than average, I'd like to go back so I'd say it's worth it! :)

This evening, we, a family of five, went to this wonderful restaurant. The restaurant is on a lovely pond, with pink water lilies surrounding the shores. The restaurant was wooden and extremely clean. We ordered the food after much pondering about what to eat. We highly recommend the pork medallions with mushroom sauce. The waiters are all very friendly and helpful, very willing to answer any questions we had about the food, the restaurant, etc... Also, we recommend the fresh apple juice. The original drink is 4% alcohol but the waiter replaced the alcohol with sparkling water. The waiters all speak many languages. Luba Apetiti!

Lovely spot with indoor and outdoor seating areas. Great menu which includes a vegan burrito - it was very tasty and really filling. We got fries too which were also great. Staff friendly and the food is very reasonably priced. Definitely a restaurant worth going to.
