Fairly new restaurant in the grand hyatt hotel in seoul. Restaurant has two areas where diners experience open grill cooking, with all seats having a window seat to the exterior. Night that I was there, had a set menu, a special oyster set. started dinner with sake order (had wines and beers too),. there is a chef assigned to each section, where you can watch the chef (mr Kim was our chef) not only prepare the dish, but also was able to have a friendly dialogue with him. The menu was prepared around various oyster dishes, with the chef explaining not only the course, but also gave suggestions on how to eat the dish (mix the steak with the fresh rosemary and dip it in a special salt seasoning mix) to get the full taste of the dish. great dishes from the oyster/lobster combination appetizer, amazing fish/tomato dish prepared in a plastic bag!, juicy steak and Great dessert, fresh giant strawberries flambed in front of you on the grille and delicious home made ice cream. With the chef explaining each course, how to best taste the dishes and friendly banter in between. truly great experienceDear itaewon-mickey,Thank you for coming to Teppan! We are happy that you were pleased with the food and service, along with the ambience of the restaurant. Our professional chefs look forward to serving you their authentic creations once again in the very near future. Thank you for taking your time to leave us your valuable feedback. An incredible experience. Definitely worth the premium price. The service was impeccable. The view was a night view of the city and beautiful. And the food!!! The chef seems to love smoke, so a couple of dishes came out that had smoke when the lid was lifted (dry ice?). The wine choices are all premium and when I ordered champagne to start and wine with dinner, they always started with a fresh bottle. A number of amuse bouches which were excellent. I ordered a la carte and had Canard et Foie Gras which was incredible. I can't remember what else I had but I do know I was in foodie heaven. Loved, loved loved this restaurant and this chef. Go!!!

L'Impasse c'est L'Soufflant ! It is not easy to get a Toulonoise style Bouchon in all places Seoul - well here you have it.Grungy industrial decor which is stylish leads to a limited but impressive menu of handmade charcuterie, sausages and well more sausages !The Lamb sausage is the best I had a in decades and was a whiff of North African French cuisine in Seoul.Easy going , eclectic and exceptionalle !I hate to give up our secret but go there - the added bonus is the really nice Alleyways bursting with modern bohemian chic eateries and boutiques !Yes I Seoul You !

This is a group of food establishments located in the Russian area of Dongdaemun. There is a restaurant upstairs, a cafe downstairs serving delicious cakes/pastries, as well as the food from the restaurant. Their brochure also shows they have a bar and kebab shop next door. On my prvios visit they only had a korean and russian menu, but on my most recent visit they had also added english-great news for me! The menu is extensive and is sure to have something for everyone. They have a good selection of soups, a range of tasty salads, home made dumplings, meat pastries, freshly grilled shish kebabs etc. Plenty of meat and potatoes for those in need of comfort food as well as traditional dishes like plov with rice and meat. I enjoyed a tasty lamb shish kebab and a beet and potato salad and have also tired the samsa, a flaky pastry stuffed with meat. The layered honey cake is good for dessert. The food all tastes fresh and you can watch the staff preparing pastries and dumplings in house. A great change from Korean food and a good price. To get there exit Dongdaemun History & Culture Park at exit 5 (line 5). Walk down the side street and you will see a bank on a corner across the road (with cyrillic signs). Walk to the left of that corner and carry on along that street. Fortune is located on the same side of the bank about 150m along the road.
