Minniborgir Restaurant is at the Minniborgir Cottages area. We can take up to 100 persons in seating. We offer fresh and local food from the area.
Located in the Minni-Borgir Cottages main building, the restaurant isn't fancy but it's well worth trying if you are in the area - we stayed overnight here (separate review) and were tired and didn't want to drive anywhere for dinner. Katherine was a delightful host and recommended the organic tomato soup. The tomatoes come from nearby Solheimar (Fridheimar tomato farm greenhouses nearby offer lunch by reservation inside the greenhouse) and I have to say this was the best tomato soup I've ever had. I even asked for,and got, their recipe. Burgers were OK, fries were crisp. And the chocolate lava cake was a perfect ending, with a lovely presentation. A bit less expensive than meals elsewhere in Iceland.

There are not many places in Iceland where you get a beautifully laid out table even with white table clothes for LUNCH! We had a lovely lunch at the Riverside Restaurant last week, food was delicious, service was 100% attentive and friendly. Could not have wished for more. Iceland overall is pricy, but here service and price were well acceptable. Both the langoustine soup and vegetarian dish were great! Congratulations and Thank you!

Grimsborgir Restaurant is situated directly at the famous Golden Circle tourist route in South Iceland. On our à la carte menu our guests will find traditional Icelandic dishes and international gourmet food, everything is freshly prepared from local prod
The restaurant is part of the Hotel Grimsborgir and also the location for a very good breakfast buffet. We had dinner and breakfast. Dinner is selected from a menu with a good selection of dishes including vegetarian. Local lamb, excellent local fish options and a selection of beef. A good selection of international wines and champagne but they come at âIcelandic pricesâ. Desert is also available including s cheese option. Staff is attentive and friendly. Since the nearest restaurant is quite a distance given the location of the hotel, many guests are having dinner in the restaurant. I would recommend to make a reservation for a table.

Thrastalundur is a modern restaurant with a well-thought-out concept. Itâs located a short drive north of the town Selfoss and a 40-minute drive from ReykjavÃk. Itâs a perfect place to stop if you are travelling the Golden Circle. Thrastalundur restaurant
Decided to treat the wife to a nice breakfast on a long Easter weekend, their website says they open at 11 and offer a breakfast dish with eggs bacon and others that sounded great so we decided to make the 20 minute drive, arrived at 11:10 and the sign said it was closed, saw someone working inside so decided to stop in front of the door and walk up and see if it was open, door stayed closed so returned to the car, still saw someone working inside so I was surprised but we decided to leave, looked back when leaving the parking lot and saw the sign had changed to open so we turned back walked up as still the door did not open so I knocked and we saw the same person inside, after a while waiting she finally came and turned on the door so it would open. We were directed to some seats and handed some menus, we had read them online and wanted the breakfast dish so it was an easy decision, staff replied it was only available on the weekends, I replied that this was a weekend as it was a holiday though it was a Thursday as it was a part of Easter, the waitress said she would ask the chef and came back saying that it was not possible, only on Saturdays and Sundays but this was not mentioned on their website or the menus at the location either. After all this we decided to leave and the waitress could not care less, will never return.

The Geysir Center is just another large gift shop but interesting none the less. Prices are kinda high so we passed on souvenirs. There were some eats but not cheap.

we serve Internacional food, ICelandic food, and we specialize in fresh fish. from hamburgers, soups, salads up to tenderloin of beef . lamb or horse or fish of the day, fish and chips, salmon and even we serve BBQ ribs missisippi style. Pastries, gelato
Pleasant casual restaurant with a tasty assortment of food. We saw mixed reviews but decided to check it out, and glad we did. I had the cod fish and chips (excellent) lunch special. The real surprise, for me, was horse on the menu. I sampled some and it was great! The manager was friendly, attentive and spoke very good English. Iâd eat here again.

Lovely restaurant and Cafe in Selfoss.
On our tour of Iceland, a friend and I stopped in here for some lunch. We both enjoyed our hamburger and chicken burger with fries. My friend especially enjoyed her cafe latte (served with a tiny square of chocolate). The service was prompt, setting enjoyable. Note for those with mobility limitations: the washroom is up a steep flight of stairs and not easy to navigate.

We chose this restaurant after reading many good reviews, so perhaps our expectations were too high.It is very nice inside, quite quirky with a warm and cosy feel. The staff were a mixed experience; the first man we spoke to seemed friendly, but our waitress seemed rather distant and uninterested. The main disappointment really though was the food; there was nothing bad about it as such, but it wasn't particularly good, just rather average. All in all it was an expensive meal that didn't live up to expectations.
Great restaurant in an excellent location. Our specialties are our famous quality pizzas, delicious salat and burgers. Located only 30 min from Reykjavik.
Best pizza in south of Iceland Pizza âPabbinnâ is so good and a garlic bread is great. Relax and nice family restaurant:)
