Things to do in Scheibbs
Visited for dinner during sightseeing tour. We had beef and duck, and they taste OK although they are little oily. This restaurant was open while others are closed for summer vacation, so this can save your day like us.

Our family owned Restaurant & Hotel is now going in the 5th Generation. Renewed and ready for new culinary experiences. We offer a wide palate of traditional dishes wiht an modern twist and done with best products out of our region! Hope to see you soon,
1 hours drive from Vienna you find this fantastic hotel boasting the highest culinary standards. We stayed her for 2 days and enjoyed the marvellous regional kitchen. Dinners with crisp pork, cabbage and dumpling - and a cutting board filled with delicious sausages, cheeses, hams... the selection of beers and wines is excellent. In the mornings we had hearty breakfasts with homemade goodies of all sorts. And best of all: The staff at Huebers is the friendliest people you can imagine.Only small complaint is the soft mattresses and the church next to the hotel whose bell starts ringing at 5 a.m.We had a tough, but very rewarding walk - a circular 8,4 km track to the Kendler Waterfall. The hotel can provide you with a map which is necessary as the sign posts are scarce. The track is mostly up and down hill and takes at least 2,5-3 hours. Remember to bring plenty of water.

Five years ago I was at I believe it was Hellbrunn Palace in December and outside there was a little Christmas Market setup with a kiosk for Konditorei Reschinsky - I had the delightful chocolate covered honey lebkuchen called Honiglebkuchen Elisenschnitte and had I not been on a backpacking trip I would have taken bricks of it back to the U.S. for friends and family - I have kept the label since so I wouldn't forget the name of the bakery and little treat I enjoyed and fully intend on partaking in this slice of delicious again someday, maybe at the actual bakery next time :) Highly recommend this sweet spot

Excellent Food In Excellent Ambiente In The Centre Of Scheibbs.
Friends who live in Scheibbs invited me for lunch at the "Schwarzer Elefant". It was a nice sunny day so we sat in the garden. We found a place under a shady tree and very soon - although there were many guests - a waitress asked for our wishes. She pointed out three meals to us which were the offer of the day so we didn't bother to look at the menu. I - not keen on meat - was very happy about the offer of vegetable lasagne with salad while my friends both chose chicken breast filled with spinach which went with various vegetables and noodles. The beef soup as a starter and included in the price of EUR 7,90 was with liver dumplings but it was no problem to get a different soup without paying more. Everything was very well prepared and tasted lovely. The two waitresses (one served the drinks) were very patient and friendly. My next visit in Scheibbs will definitely include a visit at the Restaurant zum Schwarzen Elefanten and I will surely recommend this nice place to my friends if they should ever visit Scheibbs.
