We were refused our welcome drink by very unpleasant woman on till despite being told at reception that we could use our vouchers later after arriving. Suffice to say, we did not eat there again and spent our money somewhere else. In merito a quanto accaduto, ci teniamo a sottolineare che la nostra collega che si occupa della cassa del Varnelli Bistrot e Restaurant, non ha fatto nulla di sbagliato, anzi, ha cercato di gestire una situazione di incomprensione, cercando di spiegarle quanto accaduto. Al check-in di tutti gli Ospiti dell'Hotel del Sole, la reception offre agli Ospiti appena arrivati un welcome drink. Al momento in cui vengono consegnati i coupon ai clienti, viene specificato che la Direzione offre agli Ospiti una bevanda fresca di benvenuto, preparata direttamente dal nostro barman, e che basterà consegnare il coupon al bar, per ricevere il nostro drink di benvenuto. Ciò che è accaduto, è che, Lei ha pranzato nel nostro ristorante, e al momento in cui è andato a pagare il conto, voleva che da quest'ultimo fossero scalate le bevande, utilizzando i coupon del drink di benvenuto. La collega ha cercato di spiegarle che non fosse possibile, ma lei ha reagito molto male al rifiuto della mia collega, addirittura gettandole i coupon sul volto, in senso di disprezzo. Siamo certi che si fosse creato un malinteso, e che voi non avevate ben capito quale fosse l'utilizzo dei coupon di benvenuto, ma comunque sarebbe stato meglio cercare di ascoltare ciò che la collega stava cercando di spiegarvi. In ogni caso, speriamo comunque che il soggiorno presso l'Hotel del Sole sia stato gradito e che ne abbiate un buon ricordo. Vi aspettiamo al più presto di nuovo a Pompei per venire a scoprire le altre bellezze del nostro territorio, Cordiali saluti, La Direzione.

We came here for lunch after a morning visiting the ruins at Pompeii. The reviews are all wonderful but it didn't really live up to the hype. It was quiet for lunch (apart from a group leaving and shouting "don't order anything here, it's not fresh!" - not a great start!) and the costumes came across as a bit tacky. The food was pretty poor - my ravioli dish was lacking in flavour and a bit stodgy. We were also left waiting 43 minutes (I know this as we had set a 45 minute limit before we walk out!) for our food - two pasta dishes! They did try to get us to order a starter as the pasta would take awhile to cook (?) so I got the impression that we were being made to wait on purpose. I can see how this place might be a bit of fun on a busy night but I wouldn't be going back to see!Dear,always thank our customers for having preferred us and for the time you have wanted to spend with us ... leave an honest review, a suggestion, an impression makes us pleasure and improves us under many points of view ...get a bad review, we regret very much, as Caupona manager apologize for the unfortunate experience you have had with us and I would really like to understand better what we have lost in our customer care satisfaction.The thing we regret the most is that you have not met your expectations, do not understand how this could have happened ...we try to give our best at all times, even very outdated business hours, if there are any mistakes, we are ready at any time to correct ... is our philosophyâ¦We are really sorry this happened and very sorry of your disappointment, especially that you thought the food was not all 'height ...try to give more and better, and at all times, we strive to improve in every way, every day, and every time ... thanks

My husband and I was recommended this restaurant and we was not disappointed. From the moment we walked into the restaurant it was an amazing dining experience. We was greeted by a lovely lady who apoligised about her English not being very good. We understood everything she said. Then chef and owner Gian came and greeted us. The food was amazing. I cannot rate this restaurant enough..Gian must have spent a lot of time, money and thought over how he wanted to portray this restaurant, with really good acoustic music to the ambiance.Well done Gian

Visited this restaurant based on the reviews here on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. Itâs a little bit off the beaten track, but offers fabulous food with friendly, attentive service. We booked through Tripadvisor and by eating unfashionably early at 19.30 saved ourselves 20%. Attended a wedding here and was very impressed with all aspects of this establishment.Everything from the panoramic view from the restaurant to the quality of food and service make this place somthing special.Although mainly a wedding / function venue its most definitley a quality operation with high standards of both cuisene and service combine that with the location and that makes it a winner in every respect.

What an amazing find. Honestly the best meal in Pompei the food was amazing and the level of service from Andreas was complete perfection.The wine was delicious and the care and attention to detail with all of the food was outstanding. Watching the chef prepare each course with fantastic ingredients was a real treat. Everyone here cares about the quality of the food and we were treated like absolute royalty. The food was also the most delicious we experienced during our time in Pompei with everything being freshly prepared.10/10Thank you so much to all the team xxx

Fabulous food, atmosphere and service but I did not feel respected as a patron holding a 7:30 reservation on a Sunday evening. We arrived to a dark, shuttered restaurant and would have left had not another couple arrived and said they had experienced this previously. A group of a dozen patrons had gathered by 8:15 when the doors finally opened. It was a cool evening and by the time we were admitted I was quite cold having waited 45 minutes for opening. If the establishment does not care to serve guests before 8:15 that is their privilege, but why accept reservations for earlier and keep diners shut out? An unfortunate start to an otherwise delightful evening. My advice: donât book an early table but do book.

Dinner at Villa Palmentiello was an unforgettable experience. The first words of appreciation go to the Maître de Salle. Kind, friendly and knowledgeable! Well beyond knowledge. Putting passion, pleasure, heart and soul into his métier. The food was fabulous, presented to the most accurate detail and, as the dishes would come to the table, the Maître de Salle would be there, explaining the dish and giving suggestions.The wine and many of the products used in the preparation of the meal were produced locally, at the property, as this is an "agriturismo". The supporting staff were very professional and efficient, attentive to our needs and committed to making the evening a very special occasion.The view is fantastic. Our thanks and congratulations to the Maître de Salle, the Chef and the supporting staff for this unforgettable evening. Highly recommended!
