The whole village was very quiet and it was disappointing that we lunched alone but our turkey dish was delicious, beautifully presented and freshly cooked. We enjoyed a good selection of fresh salad to start with. The decor is very traditional and we could imagine how busy it might get during the ski season. Clean linen table cloths and attractive table decorations set the scene. One to try.

Visit the Lamprechtshoehle cave and afterwards stop by and get something to eat. The food is homemade and delicious! If you can, leave room for dessert: one of the best Kaiserschmarren I've ever had (the portionsize is HUGE, so either share it with someone or skip the main course). Highly recommended!!

As English people eating in a foreign establishment it can sometimes be a little daunting. An Italian themed restaurant in an Austrian village did concern me, however, we shouldn't have worried about it at all. The staff were friendly and helpful and they spoke to us in English, superb ambience, efficient service but not the cheapest. Having said that it all tasted great. ....we have visited this restaurant on 3 occasions and it was worth paying a little more. They have a good chef and he produces a varied special of the day. ...which appears to be very popular. ...Great restaurant

We eat here very time we visit Austria. We actually stay in the next village, but it's become a tradition to visit the Schweizer for Sunday lunch. We are even recognised by the waiter, who has been there years. That's pretty impressive considering we are only annual visitors! The food is always extremely good, the service excellent and the restaurant itself is extremely attractive. It's a great place to eat when in Lofer and we wouldn't go anywhere else.

Wow! Fantastic hotel in fantastic location serving fantastic food by fantastic staff .....and for all those who do not speak German (yes I know ....we are in Europe and really should learn!) ....an English menu! ....no need for a German phrase book here!...although Collins do a really good one with a Food Section just in case....Before dinner we took advantage of the two lane bowling alley downstairs with 4 people on each team... Cost is a very reasonable 10 euro per lane and that is for one hour... not for how many are playing. Then after building up an appetite, we went upstairs to sample the menu. Great selection of starters and mains...we couldn't manage a dessert....far too filled already. Recommend the curried chicken soup, goulash and grilled prawns for starters ..( not at the same time) and for mains if there are two of you to share try the Chateaubriand steak...totally out of this world. pork strogonoff was also excellent.

Now in its second year under Manfred and Katharina it is a well run cafe serving excellent local food and drinks. Quality is very high with a good range of snacks and hot and cold drinks. The jausenstation is situated at the entrance to the Vorderkaser Klamm which is essential to visit if in the area. Free to walk up the Klamm with a guest card but minimal charge otherwise it never fails to impress as a natural wonder of the area. You can park at the bottom by the main road and walk up along the river, about 30 minutes steady walk but longer to enjoy the views, or drive along the narrow Road to the top. Prices are very reasonable and service great. A new ebike charging point is just being installed and toilets are available. Service is excellent and friendly. Highly recommended.
