We discovered Al Postiglione last year when we were searching around Friuli and Slovenian Goriska Brda for place to take family and friend for our 50th celebration. At certain point we found Perusini Hacienda for accommodation and we were recommended by owners to have dinner at Al Postiglione very near. Before final decision we wanted with my husband to check the food and the service. At first sight we have fallen in love with this place. Nestled on the hill in an old farm house with gorgeous view to vineyards. First time we were late for Saturday lunch, however Francisco, the host, just invited us inside and we got the best gnnochi on the globe - no kidding, mouth-washing Florentine steak and cake we have dreamed about ever since than. The decision was taken and we have never regretted it.We have been coming every couple of weeks after - nota bene, we need to drive 90 min from our place but it is worth.Needless to say that celebration for 50 invitees, taking place on 25th of May 2013 was just fantastic, thanks to Marianna and Francesco. Our guest which are not all easy ones, were extremely satisfied and still now at every occasion at the end we talk about Irish beef tagliata, about pasta, about Florentiner steak and about the fantastic spirit of this place. What we all appreciated the most was friendly and relaxed however highly professional attitude of Marianna and Francesco and atmosphere they can create. It was no problem for them and musician Enzo they had recommended to extend for 3 hours; we left our hosts at 1.45 instead of 23.00 as agreed originally. It was so perfect that in August 2013 I organized the wedding lunch for my ex husband and again it was big success. Since than we drop by every couple of weeks for lunch or dinner or just a bite of lardo in the afternoon. My sons are dreaming of Irish or Australian top quality beef at Al Postiglione, my daughters of home made gnnochi and sweets. And me I look forward for the best rum I ever tasted - from Guatemala, better than any cognac, Armagnac or whiskey and which is Francesco's secret at the end of meal. I don't know about our dogs, nevertheless they feel very good at this restaurant and they are very welcomeWe were in USA for couple of weeks over New Year, we were landing in Milan and we were all just waiting for Marianna's and Francisco's warm welcome, their always happy and friendly face and for delicious food we could not taste in NYC best restaurants. We in general ravel globally very often, we meet different people, we have tried many restaurants however Al Postiglione and their incredible hosts remain on the 1st place in our hearts.Thank you very much! Is a wonderful surprise to read youe review! When you want to return to Postiglione to spend nice time and eat good food, you are welcome!

Kobarid, Slovenia is more remote than Mars...but if you are lucky enough to somehow be in this spotlessly perfect country, plan and reserve an evening at Ana's place.Unforgettable. Every bite. One tiny example: the butter they make is dusted with bee pollen and is like nothing I've ever had. Wine was plentiful; great staff.

We came in the restaurant by coincidence. My husband was hiking on Matajur and me and 3 moths old son waited for him in Refugio in Italy. When we drove back to Slovenia we found this family restaurant in the middle of beautiful nature. Personnel is very kind and also food was delicious. View from the outdoor table was amazing and it feels like home!! We are very glad to find them and eat healthy food in the middle of beautiful Slovenia! We will surely come back!

Driving from Bovec to Piran we crossed Kanal and decided to go for lunch here. They offer a choice of 2 for starter, main and dessert for â¬10!!!! I thought I had misunderstood at first and then I started worrying about the quality of the food. But there was absolutely nothing the worry about! All the courses were great and we highly highly recommend this place. Lovely outside terrace, the owner is really friendly and the value for money is one of the best we have ever had. Just go!!!

We had Sunday lunch at this restaurant located in very beautiful and peaceful surroundings in the wine-growing region of Goriska Brda in Slovenia near the Italian Collio region. The menu featured several very interesting dishes spiced with lavender flowers. The wines were produced by the restaurant and we enjoyed both the house white and red. However, we were disappointed on a few points. Although we reserved earlier in the day, we were given a table on the inside of the restaurant. We asked whether we could have a table on the terrace but we were told there were no places available. This puzzled us as we saw as the afternoon progressed several other guests announcing that they had no reservations ushered without difficulty to tables on the terrace. After enjoying our first course (one chicken and two pasta dishes) we were specifically instructed to keep our already used and soiled cutlery for the second course which was a plate of cheeses, polenta, figs, and honey. We ordered 3 individual plates of the cheese option as a second for the three of us, but it was served on one plate with an uneven distribution for three people. We would have appreciated having a separate plate for each person to avoid 'who gets what how much' discussions that ensued. The bread served for the meal was stale (and this restaurant charges the cover charge which normally includes bread). Also, being accustomed to the traditions of the region, we were surprised that we were not offered a small digestivo after the meal from the display cabinet.

Good food well cooked ,very nice décor ,pleasant staff who made an effort to understand English. The wine was very nice, Not just a pizzeria this establishment also does a wide selection of local dishes and a good desert selection, It also has outside seating in a small square for when the weather is fine.

I ate here last night with my husband. We sat outside. The table was set very elegantly and we were given the menus immediately.I chose the tortino with herbs as a starter, which was sublime amd my husband took the crudo d'osvaldo which was terrific. Then I had paccheri pasta with sea bass and tomatoes...10/10. My husband had homemade tagliatelle with fresh porcini mushrooms...a fantastic dish. Then we both took desserts. I had the croccantino with wholenuts ...yummy. I was completely full as all the portions were generous. My husband had puff pastry with cream and fresh fruit ...mouthwatering. We accompanied our meal with the house wine at 4 euros a half litre. Amazing, prices, presentation and service, in total we spent 60 euros in two for a top notch meal in a lovely, quiet setting. The owner was very friendly and kind throughout the meal which only added to our great experience. We will definitely come back asap!

Cozy bar-restaurant, very kind service. Good choice of wine by the glass, and very reasonably priced. We shared an appetizer of excellent cold cuts, really recommended, while another appetizer of escargots was so-so, as was my veal tripe. A friend had spaghetti with anchovy sauce and liked them. On the whole, I would recommend the place for trying the local cold cuts accompanied by a couple of good glasses, but not for a full meal.

We ate there at night and managed to order good and well cooked food, however you should be able to speak Italian, because they don't speak German or English. But it was not a big problem.
